A Review of the Canon PowerShot S70

The Canon PowerShot S70 is a compact digital camera which turns out high-quality photographs. The 7.1 mega pixel Canon PowerShot S70 boasts the Cannon's new UA lens technology to give you enhanced image quality and 13 modes for shooting pictures, including the VGA movie mode. The high-quality glass lens on the Canon PowerShot S70 which will generate images comparable to what you would find in much bigger professional digital cameras. The Canon PowerShot S70 also features Canon's exclusive DIGIC processor and ISAPS technology to provide an image superior to that you would find on just about any other digital camera and to enhance the processing speed. The Canon PowerShot S70 has a 28-mm zoom setting which will produce sharp and clear images even from a distance.

Of course with the good comes the bad. While there really are no significant downfalls to the Canon PowerShot S70, it is important to mention some possible shortcomings in terms of what the consumer may want.

First, the Canon PowerShot S70 only has a 1.8 inch screen, which is a bit smaller than the typical 2 inch screen on most other digital cameras. The upside to the smaller screen is that you are able to view the shot clearly, even in direct sunlight, which is harder to do with a bigger screen. Additionally, the Canon PowerShot S70 only has a 3.6 x zoom, which is lower than some comparable digital cameras on the market. If you take a lot of pictures at a distance, this might become an issue for you.

Overall, the Canon PowerShot S70 is among the best on the shelf for both expert and beginner photographers. With the software necessary for transferring, organizing, printing, and editing your pictures included in the box, you have everything that you need to get started taking great digital photographs.
