I am a very simple woman.
I don't need time to put on makeup because I don't wear any. I don't need much time to pick out what I am going to wear because I always dress casual and it's always an easy decision. I've had my hair in the same style since I was a teenager so I don't have to do anything to it except comb it.
But... I do dye my hair. I always dye it myself, too.
If you are like me and you do dye your hair, you know that over time the dye wears off and it's time to dye it again.
Sometimes we let it go because we are too busy, or too tired, or too lazy and then boom...we get an invitation to something. It's a moment of panic. You're still too busy, or too tired, or too lazy, but your multi-colored hair does bother you. You're embarrassed to be seen that way.
Lots of times it's not your whole head of hair that really needs to be dyed again yet, but just at the roots, or those areas by your ears where your original color and/or the gray hair seems to first appear again.
I have found an easy, quick solution - a very reasonably priced one, too.
It's...Clairol's Nice 'N Easy Root Touch-Up.
One day I decided to buy a box of Clairol's Nice 'N Easy Root Touch-Up just in case.... At the time I didn't have a definite reason in mind to need it. Maybe it was on sale and I thought it was a good idea to have it in the house. It ended up being a savior for me.
By telephone, I received only a one, or two day notice to attend a small party for my nephew, who was home for a short time from the Army - something I wouldn't miss for the world.
After I hung up the telephone, I looked in the mirror and said to myself, "Aaaaaa, my hair," as I saw the gray coming through in just a few areas. First I thought about not doing anything with it, but it bothered me. Quickly I remembered the box of Clairol's Nice 'N Easy Root Touch-Up I had bought and I decided to try it. I didn't even know if the color I had picked was the same exact color I had used to dye my hair the last time I did it. I didn't care. I thought to myself that it was still a much better solution than dying my whole head of hair.
Using the Clairol Nice 'N Easy Root Touch-Up was SO easy. One small bottle and one small tube to mix together and then pour into the little plastic tray that also comes in the box. They also supply a little brush to apply the mixture to your hair on the areas where it is needed.
In JUST 15 minutes the job was complete - including the rinsing with warm water and my problem was solved. My hair was all one color once again, including 100% coverage of the gray hairs that had started to reappear.
The insert in the box says the color lasts for 3 weeks but to be honest with you, mine has been lasting a lot longer than that.
I also have a little secret to reveal... Of course the instructions are to mix together all of the bottle and tube that are given and to then pour the unused portion down the drain. I didn't have large areas to touch-up on my hair so I only made half a portion. I saved half of the tube and half of the small bottle to be used for another application. I rinsed and dried the small brush and the little plastic tray and then placed them both back in the box for when I need another root touch-up. Two uses out of one.
Clairol's Nice 'N Easy Root Touch-Up matches any brand of hair dye you use, including salon brands.
There are often coupon inserts in Sunday newspapers which contain a coupon for Clairol Nice 'N Easy products. Walgreens also has a sale on these products very often. Check the Walgreens' weekly circular each week. If there's a store coupon, a manufacturer's coupon can also be used with it = double the savings.
Clairol's Nice 'N Easy Root Touch-Up is a very cheap, quick and easy solution to unwanted roots. It saved my day.
If you dye your hair, as I do, it's extremely convenient to keep a box of it in the house at all times.
I very highly recommend Clairol's Nice 'N Easy Root Touch-Up.
My sources are personal experience and a box of Clairol's Nice 'N Easy Root Touch-Up: Light Ash Brown Permanent Color.

Post a CommentI think the doctors worry that any coloring would seep into the scalp and prevent accurate scans - should the need arise. Anyway, they said it and so, I just accept it. It's okay - it would only be one more thing to do anyway :) That's life...you accept and move on! Happy to be alive, gray and all!
Someone I know had brain surgery for a cyst and had a shunt put in. She no longer dyes her hair, but I thought she liked it white and didn't want to be bothered having it dyed anymore. Maybe she can't, as you say.
Since my brain surgery and subsequent brain shunt implant, I can never use hair dye because it could "seep into the shunt" so I will just gray - hopefully later than sooner! cheers :)
