I am a fan of many jambalaya food dishes and when I came across Contessa Jambalaya Frozen Skillet Meal in the frozen meals section of my favorite local grocery store, I was thrilled. This meal is gluten free! Fantastic. I decided to purchase it, try it and write a product review about my experience with it. Here is what I discovered!
Contessa Jambalaya Frozen Skillet Meal costs around four dollars. That is not a bad price. It has three servings in it. The price of this product does vary depending on where you buy it at. This dish is perfect for skillet cooking. It has white meat chicken, andouille sausage, shrimp, ham, rice, tomatoes, celery, onions, green peppers and garlic. It also has a creole tomato sauce. I love creole cooking. This dish is gluten free, low cal and low in saturated fat. I could not wait to taste it!
I have tried other Contessa brand foods and meals and I usually like them. This dish is meant for on the stove skillet cooking. I placed the contents into a large non stick skillet, thawed the sauce packet in a cup of warm water, added the sauce and one fourth cup of water, covered and heated over high heat for ten minutes, stirring frequently. This dish was ready in ten minutes and looked great. It also smelled fantastic! When I tasted Contessa Jambalaya Frozen Skillet Meal, I loved it. This is a meaty dish and I am a meat lover. Lots of chicken, sausage and ham. The rice was great and the veggies were fresh tasting. This meal is hearty, filling and creative. Jambalaya in a few minutes, yes, I liked that! This dish has a home cooked flavor and it has paprika in it, which I love. I rate this meal four stars out of five stars. I will be buying it again. I served it to a relative, who loved it, too. You can't go wrong with this one, if you are a creole food fan. It is delicious.
One serving has only 240 calories. 70 of those calories come from fat. One serving has 7 grams of total fat, only 2 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 45 mg's of cholesterol, 900 mg's of sodium, 29 grams of total carbs, 3 grams of dietary fiber, 1 gram of sugars and 15 grams of protein. This meal is protein packed. It also has nice amounts of vitamins A, C and iron in it. This meal has no high fructose corn syrup in it. Wonderful! The Contessa company is a big believer in green cuisine and they try to help the environment daily. That is admirable.
I loved trying Contessa Jambalaya Frozen Skillet Meal and writing this product review all about it. It is hearty and so tasty. For a frozen jambalaya meal, it is one of the best. It is diet friendly and I can always use that. This one is a winner!

Post a CommentI will have to try this.
Great review, but I am not a fan of jambalaya because of all of the meat that goes into it.
