The Spirit Bank Event Center was set up with booths of every performer and you could purchase merchandise such as hats, shirts, bumper stickers and posters. You were also given an iTunes card with each ticket purchase, it contained 40 free songs and you could also get a 20 song pre-tour sampler.
You could buy tickets for floor seats or you could purchase them and sit down on the wings. We chose the floor seats but they didn't have seats and we stood up the whole time. Upon entering you were given a wrist band so you could come and go to get drinks, food or visit the restroom.
Many of the bands would go to their booth once they had played their set so you could get autographs, pictures and talk with them. Every band was very polite and appreciative of their fans. Listed below are some of the bands that performed and their history.
Capitol Lights were the first band to perform, they are Tulsa natives. Their style of music was rockin'. They have some pop songs as well; they were a great start to the show. Afterwards they were at their booth selling CDs and taking pictures, they also signed autographs.
Esterlyn had a softer edge to them and their single "Lamps" was performed while they sat on couches and had lighted lamps all over the stage. Run Kid Run followed Esterlyn and played their hearts out. They play pop rock but have great guitar hooks.
Worth Dying For blew up the stage, they have a female singer and she can rock the house or calm the masses. They are a five member worship band from California, their lyrics are very thought provoking and hard hitting. They focus their sound for a younger generation and use aggressive guitars and piano to lead their brand of worship.
Fireflight consists of two girls and three guys. Their song "Unbreakable" was featured on the television show Bionic Woman. This band rocks! Their energy is incredible and every song is about how they struggle but always overcome.
KJ-52 is a rapper, his style is fun and quirky but he gets his message across. He was the emcee and introduced all the bands and told a little history about each one. He also performed a couple of songs and had the crowd dancing along.
Pillar are local boys and have been rocking the streets of Tulsa since they arrived. They are a four piece band with hard rocking guitar and drums. Rob Beckley is the lead singer and belts out the tunes. Noah Henson rips up the guitar and lays down the memorable riffs; he's also got a head full of dreads. This Creation Festival tour stop allowed them to announce a New Years Eve show at The Church at Battle Creek in Brown Arrow, Oklahoma. They performed songs from all their CDs starting with "Fireproof" all the way up to "For The Love Of The Game" which was released in 2008.
Thousand Foot Krutch or as fans know them (TFK) are from Canada and they are very energetic. They were all over the stage and the lead singer Trevor McNevan even made his way into the crowd. I had never heard of this band before and now I have everything they have recorded. They play hard rock, rap rock and punk rock. Each song is full of high energy and they have a Christian view about everything.
The last band to hit the stage was Kutless. They were the headliner and head bangers. They rocked the whole place and many people witnessed their testimony through music. We spent most of the time on the front row and had a great time listening to uplifting and encouraging music. If this tour comes through your town spend the money and experience the Creation Festival.

Post a CommentI used to get a lot of Christian music cds for free because someone I knew would steal them out of a cd of the month club holding place thing, I wonder if having listened to it in that manner affected the positive messages the artists were trying to convey.
thanks for the review
