A Review of The East Bay Grille and Peaceful Meadows Restaurant in Plymouth, Massachusetts
Neighborhood: Waterfront
Plymouth, MA 02360
United States of America
We and another couple were walking around Plymouth, Massachusetts's waterfront looking for somewhere to eat. They had eaten at East Bay Grille and thought the food to be very good so we gave it a try and give it thumbs up.

East Bay Grille is in the area of Plymouth called the waterfront and has a great location with a view of the ocean. The address is 173 Water Street. The phone number is 508-746-9751. There was no wait because it is just so large. It seemed as if half of it was a bar. Speaking of which a raw bar is available. Don't worry about parking because the shared lot is huge.

We were pleasantly seated near a huge picture window that ran the length of one wall. We were at a wood table but I noted booths that appeared to be made of vinyl. I thought the restaurant to be very casual and it is but my husband after noting the prices called it upscale. We had cloth napkins giving an upscale air to this somewhat noisy restaurant.

Our waiter was extremely nice and attentive. Everything on the menu which can be seen at www.eastbaygrill.com looked delicious. The appetizers were in the $10.00 range and included fried calamari, stuffed mushrooms and tempura shrimp.

There are 10 salads from which to choose in the $11.00 range and lunch sandwiches which are moderately priced. You'll pay $8.95 for a portabello mushroom sandwich and $16.95 for a king crab roll.

The two women chose the lobster salad roll which is listed at "market price." On this Sunday night it was $19.99, which is a lot for a lobster roll but we started out with delicious onion and banana nut breads and got a huge order of perfectly cooked French fries. The lobster roll had very little if any mayonnaise. I think there was a 1 pound lobster in a roll. It was superb.

The men enjoyed their seafood Kristopher (seafood over fettuccini for $23.95) and a special of the day which was tile fish which the waiter went to find out its origin and came back and told us (non-USA).

The hours are 11:00 to 4:00 for lunch; 4:30 to 10:00 for dinner and a Sunday brunch from 11:00 to 2:00. East Bay Grille does not allow hats after sundown; tank tops; or sleeveless shirts on men.

We skipped dessert because we went to Peaceful Meadows Farm ice cream which is home made and has been awarded the best of Plymouth for ice cream for the last 17 years! Peaceful Meadows also had a storefront right on the waterfront. I'm surprised it is no longer there because of the high volume of traffic it got. This location has been in Village Landing Marketplace for years which is right across the street from East Bay Grille.

The ice cream shop has a couple of tables inside and some picnic tables outside. There were so many choices listed on the board it took me about 10 minutes to decide on a two scoop cup with pistachio ice cream and coconut chocolate ice cream. Unlike some places I could really taste which scoop was which and the pistachio ice cream was white which it is supposed to be. I tasted my husband's banana ice cream which was excellent as well. They have 27 flavors.

Peaceful Meadows also has fountain drinks such as frappes; lime rickeys and sundaes. I was close to getting a sundae for $5.50 but saved $1.25 on my two scoops. By the way these scoops are the same size as a ½ a pint of ice cream which you can buy for $4.50.

Peaceful Meadows is open year round from 10:00a.m. to 10:00p.m.
