A Review of Edwards Singles New York Style Cheesecake

Affordable Frozen Dessert

Bridgitte Williams

I love cheesecake and when I came across a box of Edwards Singles New York Style Cheesecake in the frozen pies section of my favorite local grocery store, I was thrilled. I decided to purchase this frozen dessert, try it out and write a product review all about my personal experience with it. Here is what I discovered!

One box of Edwards Singles New York Style Cheesecake costs under three dollars. Each box has two individual slices of cheesecake in it. I found this product on sale, a buy one box, get one free bonanza. That was a good deal and I got to try many of Edwards brand of singles pie slices. This one is a New York style cheesecake in a graham cracker crust. With ingredients like milk, sugar, cream and eggs, I figured this pie would be pretty good. The picture of it, on the front of the box, looked fabulous. I could not wait to taste this cheesecake.

You can serve this pie directly from the freezer, but I did not like it that way. It was too firm and had a frozen texture to it. Very hard, in my opinion. The directions said to thaw it by putting it in the refrigerator for eighty-five minutes and that is what I did. Much better. When I tasted this cheesecake, I liked it. It is fluffy, creamy and firm. It has a good traditional New York cheesecake flavor and style. The graham cracker crust is great. Sweet and crunchy. This cheesecake is good, but I have had better. Nothing really stood out with this dessert except that is was good. It really needs cherry filling or a strawberry filling with it to make it better. It cries for a topping of some sort.

I rate Edwards Singles New York Style Cheesecake four stars out of five stars. It is not the best, but it is very good. For a frozen cheesecake, that is. One serving has 300 calories in it. 180 of those calories come from fat. One serving has 20 grams of total fat, 11 grams of saturated fat, 0.5 grams of trans fat, 70 mg's of cholesterol, 210 mg's of sodium, 50 mg's of potassium, 25 grams of total carbs, less than 1 gram of dietary fiber, 16 grams of sugars and 4 grams of protein. This dessert has small amounts of calcium, vitamin A and iron in it. This product does contain wheat, milk and eggs.

I enjoyed trying Edwards Singles New York Style Cheesecake and writing this product review about it. It is worth the money, affordable and tasty. This one is not in the best frozen cheesecake category, but it is an easy way to serve cheesecake. Add a topping and it gets better, in my opinion. Edwards has a great line of singles pie slices including chocolate creme, cookies and cream, butterfinger, pecan and turtle pie. They are worth checking out.
