A Review Ferrari F458 Italia

Official Shots of the F430 Replacement Revealed!

Dubbed the F458 Italia, this new Prancing Horse is a real beast. Ferrari have given the green lights to release the first official shots of the 570 horsepower Italian beast, and it's a real badass! Yes, the F430's big brother will have a 4.5L V8. Thank God they didn't go for a turbocharged V6 idea. The F458 Italia will hit 62 mph in 3.4 seconds, and reach a peak of 202 mph! Not bad! The old F430 was stuck in the 190's, and even the Scuderia couldn't hit 200. Here's the real worry - these are the figures for an entry level model. Ferrari will surely find ways to give it more power, better aerodynamics, and give it higher performance. But will they sacrifice interior comfort as they did with all the previous high-performance models?

The F430 replacement has been speculated on for over a year now, and after seeing some detailed body work, suspension, and the engine bay, we can now look at the whole thing. It's a shocker, to say the least. The first thing I noticed is the headlights have now got the looks that would kill even the toughest of the tough. And it doesn't look like a two-mouthed frog now that the front bumper is back to normal. Oh, and it reminds me of the Aston Martin One-77 with those huge wheel arches! Great design, Ferrari! Check out a front/side view of the mighty F458 Italia Here.

The design is now sleeker, and shares a few design cues with the Enzo. The F430 was a little more civilized in its looks, but the new F458 Italia is mad! Oh, now that I mentioned the name, I must ask, what the hell was wrong with F450? I understand it has something to do with its 4.5L V8, but what is the "8" doing in there? Probably stands for V8, just to make sure people understand that it is a V8. Imagine if it had 10 or 12 cylinders. I think the math gurus over at Ferrari would completely lose it.

Another issue, the tail lights. It looks much like the 599 GTB, the California, and the Scalieti. It's got just one round light sticking up and out on each side. Just take a look at this photo. I liked it much more when there was a pair of lights on each side, like they did in the F430 and the Enzo.

Alright, since I've hated Ferrari forever, until they released the F430, how will this affect my views on Ferrari? Well, I'll be honest. I am becoming more and more of a Ferrari fan. I'm sure the Lamborghini and the Porsche side of me will fight really hard to see who will free up more of their precious space for this new Prancing Horse.

I've been into cars for a long time now. It started as a little kid when I started drawing cars for fun. My cars, though, did not have guns and fins on them, well, most of them didn't, to say the least. I fo...  View profile
