A Review of Four Kachinas Inn in Santa Fe, New Mexico

A Charming B&B in the Heart of the Southwest

Bobbi Leder
If you're looking for a B&B while visiting Santa Fe, New Mexico, look no further than the Four Kachinas Inn. Owned by Alt Wyss and Wayne Mainus, this southwestern bed and breakfast is a wonderful combination of convenient, charming and cozy. Four Kachinas in Santa Fe, New Mexico is within walking distance to just about everything a tourist desires: great restaurants, shopping, and art galleries. The best thing about this B&B is that they have private entrances to each room, and the rooms also have a private courtyard which is perfect for sipping a cup of tea in the morning. Four Kachinas in Santa Fe, New Mexico also has a beautiful patio courtyard with tables and chairs for those who wish to eat breakfast or a snack outdoors.

The rooms are decorated with Southwestern art and furnishings that remind guests of New Mexico's culture and ancestry but also have modern conveniences like air conditioning, cable television, and private bathroom. In addition to freshly baked breads (which are more like cakes), fruit, yogurt, cereal, and bread, a gourmet hot entrée is served at breakfast. I informed the owners that I do not eat pork so they accommodated me by making a scrumptious egg dish with chicken sausage, peppers and cheese. Not only was the breakfast delicious but it actually filled us up until lunch.

The inn keeper along with the owners went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful time while visiting Santa Fe, New Mexico. They have a wealth of information about the area and the breakfast room is filled with information about Santa Fe and beyond. Four Kachinas in Santa Fe, New Mexico even has a binder filled with restaurant menus - and not just a few restaurants either - so deciding where to eat is one less thing you have to worry about.

In addition to breakfast, the Four Kachinas Inn in Santa Fe, New Mexico provides snacks like fruit, and baked goods (biscotti and cookies). A variety of tea and coffee is also available in addition to bottled water, soda and juice. And everything is available to guests 24 hours a day.

Our only complaint was our bedding in the Zia room. We had a huge king sized bed which has seen better days and consequently sunk in the middle. Our pillows were flat which didn't help with our sleeplessness. Other than that, we had a great time at the Four Kachinas Inn in Santa Fe, New Mexico but did wish they accepted pets. During the low season you can expect to pay $160/night but during their high season the rates are as much as $220/night.

The Four Kachinas Inn is located at 512 Webber Street, Santa Fe, NM, 87501. Their phone number is (505) 982-2550.

Lovely. I do as Abby does. I take my own pillows with me when I travel. I am stuck on my own pillows. I don't think I could sleep without them.

Sorry about the bad bed and pillows. When we do road trips we take our own feather pillows and it sure helps.
