Fernando Guzman from Guzman Cabinets in Houston, Texas is the epitome of the way a contractor should be and he restored my faith in contractors -- which wasn't easy to do after the experiences I've had with other contractors in the past. Fernando is not only accommodating, but professional, friendly, a perfectionist, and reliable. After obtaining a few estimates, I chose Guzman Cabinets because Fernando was the only one who explained step by step how he would do the job, he took the time to come to my house to see the area where the work was to be done (instead of relying on a photo like others did), and he was willing to take a kitchen drawer to color match it to ensure we had the correct paint color. I wound up doing the latter myself but only because I wanted to; Fernando was willing to take time out of his busy schedule to do that for me and his efforts were thoroughly appreciated.

Though Fernando works a full time job, he always showed up when he said he would and called to confirm I would be home. After seeing the space where we wanted the cabinet to be built, Fernando knew it wasn't as simple as originally planned. He wanted the final product to look perfect and as such, a visible seam wouldn't do for Fernando. Instead, he thought outside of the box and came up with a way to build and install the kitchen cabinets so a seam would not be visible (even though the seam would have not been very obvious to the average person). Fernando was willing to work whenever it was convenient for me and he made sure the new custom cabinets matched our existing ones so nothing looked out of place. But don't take my word for it; just ask my dog, a very particular English cocker spaniel who has a knack for weeding out the good from the bad. My dog fell in love with Fernando and that told me all I needed to know.

Fernando Guzman from Guzman Cabinets in Houston, TX even moved the knobs and installed new ones which really wasn't part of the original job description nor was painting the hinges and cabinets, buying the quarter round (staining and installing it so the wood matched the rest of the house) or building a base for the cabinets which proved to be a challenge since our wall was slightly crooked. You name it, Fernando did it and not once did he ask for any money. He waited until the job was completely done (every last detail) and I was 100% satisfied.
