I am a big fan of dark chocolate. Recently, I came across a bag of Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Pieces in the candy section of my local favorite grocery store. I was intrigued. I decided to purchase this candy, try it out and write a product review all about my personal experience with it. Here is what I discovered!
I bought a bag of Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Pieces for around three dollars. Each bag has seven servings in it. The bag is red, brown and yellow and it has a picture of this candy on the front of it. I must admit, these looked good. This candy is semi sweet dark chocolate covered in a candy shell. These have no cholesterol in them and that fact surprised me. This candy comes in a re sealable bag and I liked that. It helps the candy stay fresh. I could not wait to taste these!
This candy is very colorful, I discovered. Unusually colored, in my opinion. The pieces are red, brown and black. Interesting. When I tried these, I did love them. They are similar to the very famous M&M's candies, but there are lots of things that separate these two types of candies. The candy shell is not hard. It is crunchy and almost crispy. The candy shell is much thinner than M&M's candies. The sweet dark chocolate in this treat is very smooth, almost creamy and delightful. Since it is Hershey's chocolate, it is quite special. I love Hershey's dark chocolate bars, so this candy is a winner in my book. Just the right amount of sweet and chocolate. These are fun to eat and very addictive. A relative of mine who is a big Hershey's dark chocolate fan tried these with me and she was impressed. I agree with her.
I rate Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Pieces five stars out of five stars. While they might melt in your hand, if you hold them too long, I don't have a problem with that. I eat them way too fast for them to melt. I will be buying these again. They are a perfect dark chocolate candy treat for those who like M&M's. These pleased me. I have absolutely no complaints. One serving has 180 calories. 70 of those calories come from fat. One serving has 8 grams of total fat, 5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 0 mg's of cholesterol, yay, 10 mg's of sodium, 29 grams of total carbs, 2 grams of dietary fiber, 26 grams of sugars and 1 gram of protein. This sweet snack has a small amount of iron in it. This product may contain coconut or almonds.
I loved trying Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Pieces and writing this product review about them. They make a great snack. This candy pieces line includes Reese's pieces, Almond Joy pieces and York peppermint pieces. Yum! You may fondly remember Reese's pieces. It was featured in the 1982 movie E.T. and became a national favorite. The special dark chocolate pieces really rock, too. I highly recommend them. They are high in quality and affordable, not to mention, so very tasty.
