I like many Hormel brand food products. Recently, I came across Hormel Soup Cups, in the canned soups section of my local Rite Aid drug store. Being a fan of bean and ham soup, I was delighted to discover this product. I decided to purchase it, try it out and write a review all about my experience with it. Here is what I found out!
This soup cup was on sale and only one dollar. That was a decent price, even though this soup cup is fairly small in size. With beans, ham, carrots, tomato paste, salt, smoke flavoring and other ingredients in it, this soup intrigued me. It comes in a small microwave friendly cup. I only had to remove the easy open pop top lid, stir, re cover and heat for a minute on high in my microwave. I let this soup cool, stirred well and served. It smelled very good and looked great. When I tasted Hormel bean & ham soup, I loved it. It is rich, hearty and flavorful. Lots of nice sized ham pieces in this soup and a large amount of beans. The broth is tasty and pleasing. I rate this soup four stars out of five stars. I will be buying it again. It satisfies the beans and ham soup lover in me, that is for sure.
This is a single serving soup cup. One serving has 190 calories in it. Only 35 of those calories are from fat. One serving has 4 grams of total fat, 1 gram of saturated fat, 10 mg's of cholesterol, 720 mg's of sodium, 29 grams of total carbs, 7 grams of fiber, wow, 2 grams of sugars and 9 grams of protein. This soup has nice amounts of vitamin A, calcium and iron in it. The smoky flavor of this soup is wonderful. It is rather salty and it could do without some of the salt in it, in my opinion. A fabulous quick soup for the cold winter months. This one warms me up and energizes me. I loved trying this soup and writing a product review about it. It is a winner and one of my favorite soups by Hormel. Worth trying. Most ham and bean soup fans will enjoy this one. I certainly did! A fiber rich easy dish.
