A Review of Hungry Man Pub Favorites Honey Bourbon Chicken Strips Dinner

Delicious and Hearty

Bridgitte Williams

It has been quite a while since I have tried any Hungry Man frozen dinners. Things have changed and this brand now has a line of Pub inspired frozen meals. I am a chicken strips fan, so when I came across a Hungry Man Pub Favorites Honey Bourbon Chicken Strips Dinner in the frozen meals section of my local grocery, I was thrilled. This meal looked good. I decided to purchase it, try it out and write a product review all about my personal experience with it. Here is what I discovered!

This dinner costs around three dollars and sixty cents. It is a bit pricey, but the promise of lots food lures many in, myself included. Also, the picture of this meal, on the front of the box, looks spectacular. It has fried chicken patties strips, mashed potatoes, white and yellow kernel corn and a special bourbon sweet dipping sauce. That all sounded very good to me! This dinner is loaded with lots of protein. I could not wait to taste it!

Hungry Man Pub Favorites Honey Bourbon Chicken Strips Dinner is perfect for microwave cooking and that is how I chose to prepare it. You can also cook this meal in a conventional oven if you choose to. It takes thirty-five minutes that way, so I liked the quickness of microwave baking best. I peeled back the film cover from the chicken strips, removed them, removed the film from over the sauce, cut a slit over the corn and potatoes portion, microwaved on high for two minutes, returned chicken to the tray, replaced the film over the chicken and continued cooking on high for four minutes. I then let this meal stand in my microwave for one minute before uncovering and serving. This dinner looked fabulous and smelled yummy.

When I tasted the chicken strips, I loved them. They are tender, juicy and covered in tasty batter. The bourbon dipping sauce is delicious and added such a special Pub style flair to this meal. The chicken and sauce are both the stars of this frozen dinner. Fresh tasting and melt in your mouth flavor. The mashed potatoes and corn are decent, but pretty normal. The great chicken and sauce made up for the bland mashed potatoes, for sure. I rate this meal four and one half stars out of five stars. I will be buying it again. It is hearty, filling and the chicken and sauce are restaurant quality. That impressed me.

This dinner has 620 calories. 220 of those calories are from fat. It has 24 grams of total fat, 6 grams of saturated fat, 80 mg's of cholesterol, 970 mg's of sodium, 69 grams of total carbs, 4 grams of dietary fiber, 26 grams of sugars and 25 grams of protein. This meal has a nice amount of vitamin C in it. It also has some calcium, iron and vitamin A. This product does contain wheat, soy, eggs and milk.

I loved trying Hungry Man Pub Favorites Honey Bourbon Chicken Strips Dinner and writing this product review. This meal is for the hungry person and it also has a special and creative touch. The dipping sauce and chicken strips are fantastic. This one is a winner. One of the best honey battered chicken strips frozen meals, in my opinion.
