JW Price
When it comes to home appliances these days, green is in. KitchenAide has done a fantastic job by making all of its new refrigerators Energy Star compliant, meaning that they are held to strict energy consumption requirements. Luckily. the company has been able to achieve this without compromises on design or functionality. I have been lucky enough to use the KitchenAide KBFA25ERSS in my home and I'm going to let you know how it is performing for me so you can decide if it is worth your hard earned money.

Product Overview:

First of all I must comment on the styling of this unit. Mine is a stainless steel model to match the rest of my kitchen but it is available from KitchenAid in both a black and a white version. The French doors are certainly in style now and once you have a refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom you'll never go back. This fridge is huge with 24.8 cubic feet of cooling space that is all super accessible thanks to the two doors. It easily accommodates large items like a pizza still in its box or a case of beer if you're so inclined.

Features include a filtered water dispenser as well as an ice maker. This KitchenAid KBFA25ERSS is easy to customize with electronic controls and an easy to read digital thermometer.

There are four glass shelves that are on tracks so they can be pulled out for added accessibility. There are also the traditional bins in the doors for added space. The crispers have adjustable humidity settings that seem to actually work, which is a nice improvement over the sliding plastic bar that seemingly did nothing but look nice in my previous fridge. A little over 7 cubic feet is the size of the freezer and it also has rolling shelves, more like baskets which makes organizing it a breeze.

Product Value:

The price on the KBFA25ERSS is right in line with most high end refrigerators. Coming in at most major retailers around $1,800 this KitchenAid is priced right, especially the stainless steel model. If you're in the market for a new refrigerator look for sales which may include items like the KBFA25ERSS soon. As we all know the end of the year brings a lot of great deals but I wouldn't be surprised if this year was even better thanks to the slumping economy making retailers crawl all over each other for a chance at your dollar.
