A Review of LuckyVitamin.com

"The Internet's Pot of Gold for Nutrition and Wellness!"

Sea Shepherd
I finally was fed up with all the reading I came across regarding the dangers of personal hair products with sodium laureth sulfate and other harmful chemicals. So, I decided to get rid of all my personal care products and replace them with organic, safe and natural products. I came across a website called LuckyVitamin.com who claims to be "The Internet's Pot of Gold for Nutrition and Wellness". I have to agree after they do beat the prices of our larger chain health stores in my area, including shipping.

It's hard buying personal care products over the Internet. Let's face it. We don't have the capabilities of smelling nor seeing the quality of personal care products over the Internet. And many of us, like I, love to open the bottles and smell before we buy the product. Well, I still can't solve that problem. However, I did find my first order from LuckyVitamin.com was a success. Not only do I enjoy the products but the cost of them with shipping is very reasonable. They offer a flat rate of shipping for $5.95 less than ten pounds and if you spend $100 or more, shipping is free.

There may not be any real proof that organic personal care products are beneficial to our health. However, there is proof building up regarding some of the chemicals in our products that are dangerous to our health. Many of us are not aware of how many chemicals there are in our personal hair products, including what we put in our mouth like toothpaste. I always had a theory of why we have seen increases of cancer with people who don't have cancer running in their family. Between our food additives and preservatives and the personal care products that are absorbed on our skin, this can not be helping the statistics. For more about the dangers of personal hair products, you can read "Personal Hair Products that are Dangerous to your Health".

There were several items I bought from LuckyVitamin, liquid soap, a body cleanser, toothpaste, deodorant, hair shampoo and hair rinse. What is nice about the website is that it lists all the ingredients in their products. I like this because if I can't pronounce the ingredient, I get a little concern on what it must be. This way I can look it up on the Internet to understand what it is. Unlike some department store personal care products, like Clinque, that does not list all of their ingredients, LuckyVitamin makes sure it gives a good description of the product and with their ingredients. Here are the reviews of the items I bought and tried.

Jason Natural Products Satin Soap Tea Tree

This liquid soap is certified organic Australian tea tree oil. It is known for its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It has a wonderful silky texture. It claims that it is equal to 6 bars of soap. It combines organic chamomile extract and olive oil with Vitamin E. It is scented with essential oils, jasmine, orange blossom and eucalyptus. I have used many liquid soaps in the past, but this one beats them all. I love the gentle smell. If I was to describe that smell, it would be a subtle fragrant of blossoms but not too much that a man wouldn't want to use it. The best part for me is that it has no sodium laurel sulfate in it.

As consumers it does become difficult to decipher what is organic. You can read more on how to understand organic products and how to read labels at Organic Skin Care.

The price of this product was $4.05 for a 16 ounce bottle. You do not have to use a lot so it will last for a while.

Zia Natural Skincare Age-Deflying Body Cleanser Combination

This has no soap in it nor sodium laurel sulfate. Some of the ingredients are Vitamin A,C,E, sea kelp, ginkgo, Retinyl A, their patent TeaOx. TeaOx is Zia's exclusive age-fighting nutrient complex made with pure fruit and botanical extracts including red raspberry, currant, chamomile and green tea.

The light pleasant scent comes from lavender, sweet orange blossom, and sandalwood. Your face will have a silky feeling afterwards.

The price for this product was $7.96 for a 7 oz tube. You do not need to use a lot. A drop is plenty.

Jason Natural Products Sea Fresh All Natural Sea-Sourced Toothpaste

Here we have mixed reviews. I like it but my husband is not sure yet because of the taste. It could be that he doesn't just like spearmint flavor.

There are three natural whitening polishers: Bamboo Powder, Calcium Carbonate and Silica help prevent plaque build-up and are gentler on your teeth than other whitening ingredients. Anti-bacterial Grapefruit Seed Extract and Perilla Seed Extract help block sugar acids and bacteria forming in your mouth. Certified Organic Aloe Vera Gel helps soothe and relieve gums from irritation. The cost was $3.45 for a 6 oz tube.

Jason Powersmile toothpaste

I decided to get find a cinnamon flavor toothpaste because that is the type of toothpaste my husband likes. And he did like this one! This has the same ingredients as Jason's Sea Fresh toothpaste. If you like that cinnamon flavor then this one is the right one to chose. It also cost $3.45.

Kiss my face Lavender Liquid Rock Deodorant.

The number one chemical that is now being linked to breast cancer could be coming from our deodorants that have aluminum in them. This product has liquefying crystal deodorant stones which are 100% effective in preventing body odor. The mineral salts inhibit bacterial growth which is what cause the odor. It neutralizes the body acids in perspiration. There are no artificial colors, fragrances, animal ingredients or animal testing. I found it worked for my husband and me. We are both satisfied with this one.

This product cost $2.97 for a 3 oz bottle.

Avalon Active Organics Lavender Nourishing Shampoo

Now, I have fine hair and I have used many products to bring back fullness. However, those other products did not do anything for my natural wave. As we age, we lose our body. Well, yes, that too, but I'm talking about our hair body. This product was amazing! My hair not only came out more full but I saw the wave with the shine coming back.

The ingredients are natural botanicals with a signature ingredient called Beta glucan. Beta glucan is a derivative of oats. It stimulates collagen synthesis and promotes cell growth over the scalp which leads to healthier hair. The smell is a blend of lavender with an herbal fragrance. There are no parabens, petroleum-based ingredients, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, or other harsh preservatives or chemicals. The cost was $4.77 for an 11 oz. bottle.

Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Moisturizing Conditioner

I love the scent of honeysuckle and this did not disappoint. As I mentioned above, my hair is fine. This did not weigh it down but complimented the shampoo I used above, leaving my hair shining with a natural look to it. They also make a shampoo with this fragrance too that I didn't realize till after I bought the Avalon Lavender Shampoo. However, I might try that the next time.

This hair condition is recommended for colored hair. This product has organic shea butter and Rose Mosqueta oil beside Wheat Germ Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Rosa Mosqueta® Rose Hip Seed Oil; Extracts of Fennel, Hops, Balm Mint, Mistletoe, Camomile, Yarrow, Chrysanthemum, Angelica, Forsythia and Magnolia; Honeysuckle Oil, Carrot Oil, Aubrey's Preservative (Citrus Seed Extract, Vitamins A, C and E. And again, no sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate or other harsh preservatives or chemicals.

The cost for this was $7.70 for an 11 oz. bottle.

I like shopping online especially with gasoline prices being so high. Most of all I like the variety of products LuckyVitamin.com offers. They have other products like vitamins, aromatherapy, health foods, and all kinds of personal care products just to name a few. You can return unopened products as long as it is done within 30 days of receipt for a full money back return.

Dangerous chemicals contaminate our world. However, we seem to lack the concern of the dangers of these chemicals in our every day usage. Like Kermit the Frog would say, "It's not easy being green". However, it is easy to go to www.LuckyVitamin.com.

I'm glad to have the opportunity to read this article! I am very excited about going organic. I began with some food products and have tried some organic self care products. The deodorants have been duds for me so far. I will have to try the one you listed. Thanks for this helpful information!

Great info on another online resource that offers alternatives to some of the less safe products out there. Also good to know of the cost differences!

I'm extremely happy with these choices they have compared to the health food stores. I was amazed even when you add the shipping how much cheaper it was. And this trend is not going to change. We will become more aware of our products and will chose more organics down the road. So it's important to know where the least expensive places there are because anything organic is so much more than regular.
