A Review of Merrell Nubuck Jungle Mocs

Merrell has a reputation for making high-quality, foot-friendly shoes. In search of a pair of comfortable shoes for work, I decided to try the Merrell Nubuck Jungle Mocs. In this article, I offer my review of these shoes.

I'll begin by describing the Jungle Mocs. The Nubuck pair that I have are a medium brown, but the non-Nubuck Jungle Mocs come in a variety of colors. All of the Jungle Mocs are laceless. While not very aesthetically pleasing, none of the shoes are ugly, in my opinion. Googling "Jungle Moc" would give you a better sense of the shoe than I can give in words. Anyway, these shoes, like most Merrell shoes, are formal-looking enough to wear in most work or business-casual settings.

Merrell is known for producing comfortable shoes, and I can confirm that this reputation is well-deserved. The Nubuck Jungle Mocs are soft, warm, and comfortable. They offer good foot support in general, and even after standing for long periods of time, I notice that my feet aren't sore. For people that have to stand or walk a lot at their jobs, such as wait staff and medical professionals, Jungle Mocs in any variety might be a good choice. I find that the Jungle Mocs are true to size.

I purchased the Nubuck Jungle Mocs because I thought they would be more water-resistant than the non-Nubuck models. Even after two coats of waterproofing, my shoes experienced developed some slight water staining after several rainy days in a row. This is somewhat annoying to me, as I'd taken measures to avoid any water damage to the shoes, but the staining probably isn't noticeable to people that aren't invested in the appearance of the shoes. Otherwise, the Jungle Mocs are sturdy and I haven't had any issues with them falling apart, despite them being my primary pair of shoes for the last several months.

After owning and wearing Merrell Nubuck Jungle Mocs regularly for several months, I am pleased with the shoes on the whole. The Jungle Mocs are comfortable and durable. They look good enough to wear in a variety of situations (despite not winning any beauty contests), and are versatile on the whole. At around eighty-five dollars in most places, the Merrell Nubuck Jungle Mocs are a good deal and I offer them a solid recommendation based on their comfort and durability.
