A Review of the Movie "Transformers"

When I first saw they will do a remake of the old "Transformers" movie from 1984 and "The Transformers: Movie" released in 1986, directed by Jay Bacal, respectively Nelson Shin, I did not know if it will be a quality movie or not. Many remakes are not as good as the original, you can compare that to songs and remixes, the original song is way better than the remixes, in my opinion anyway.

This new movie is directed by Michael Bay, which is one of the great directors that Hollywood has, I personally loved some of the movies he directed, the one that I loved the most was "The Island" which he directed in 2005. Also the movie had a very good budget, compared to others this year.

I would like first, to warn the ones searching for the movie on-line, that there is another movie, released in 2007, called "Transmorphers", directed by Leigh Scott, which I watched also, but it can not be compared to "Transformers", the only thing they have in common is that they share almost the same name, which could get many people confused.

The lead actor is Shia LaBeouf, a not so known name in the Hollywood world, you could know him from his role in "Disturbia", that did not encourage me to go and watch the movie in the theater on the 3rd of July, with all the 4th of July preparations, but I took in consideration that it was directed by Michael Bay, and still went to see it.

After watching it, I must say I was impressed, in my opinion it is the best sci-fi movie I have seen all year. I was first impressed by the special effects, which they have put a lot of work into, and spent a lot of money to implement. Also, the story is an exceptional one, at some times emotional, and at some times entertaining, that will make you smile, or even laugh at times. These parts are alternated during the whole movie, which makes out of it, not only a sci-fi, but part comedy and action.

There is a romantic story in the movie also, but it has a very small part, and there are no erotic scenes, but one in the very end. I enjoyed the movie still, without this. It is a movie that I watched and never got confused, or bored during it, and I would love to see it again on DVD. I suggest you go watch it, even if you are not a sci-fi fan, because it is much more than that, and you will probably enjoy it.
