A Review on MSI GeForce2 MX 400 Graphics Card

MCWL
I have used my MSI GeForce2 MX 400 graphics card for more than 5 years now. The card although old, it serves all my basic PC needs. The GeForce2 MX 400 graphics card can deliver 800 million texels per second. Although it's not the best graphics card but I can still play some online games that is released recently into the market.

I can say that this card is pretty sturdy. I have not encountered a single problem from using this graphics card. It did not even give me any compatibility issues with any games that I've installed into my system. Compared to my Leadtek Windfast GeForce4 Ti, the MX 400 has least problems. After using the GeForce4 Ti for more than 3 years, I noticed that the card started to give me problems. For example, I noticed that there were white lines running through the screen each time I boot my PC up. While playing certain game titles, tiny white square boxes started to appear randomly on the screen. Also, certain game titles couldn't even detect what sort of card that I was using to play the game.

So far I could play games such as Guild Wars, Fly For Fun, and Hit Man with my GeForce2. Although it might not be as smooth when compared to a higher end graphics card, the GeForce2 can take the beatings. Furthermore, the GeForce2 could deliver pretty decent graphics and not those grainy or blur images.

I did thought of upgrading my graphics card. However, I noticed that higher end graphics card tends to consume a huge amount of electricity. The GeForce4 Ti itself blew two of my power supply units. I'm sure that I'll need to replace the power supply with a higher wattage one if I were to replace my GeForce2 graphics card.

Nevertheless, I can't imagine using a PC without my GeForce2. I know that it's pretty old, but it still performs flawlessly and does not give me any problems at all. The images displayed on my screen have no fault such as disruption to the frequency or rather displaying the wrong color.

I noticed that some online games do require a minimum GeForce2 processor. On the other hand I find the amount of games that runs on GeForce2 to be declining. If I were to upgrade my graphics card, I'm pretty sure to purchase a MSI GeForce6800 Extreme Version. I have confidence in MSI products.

As a conclusion, if you are looking for a basic graphics card, you might want to look for a MSI GeForce2 MX 400 graphics card. Although you might not be able to play many of the latest games released into the market, the graphics card's quality is simply outstanding. I'm using it for more than 5 years now and it still performs flawlessly.

Hope this helps. Good day!
