A Review of Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, Washington

Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, WA is a fun bit of entertainment for either the armature or the serious gambler. With two large buildings of over 20 varieties of slot machines totaling more than 2,000 total, as well as; roulette, blackjack, and poker, there is never a shortage of games to be played and excitement to be had. It may not be quite the same as the thrill of Las Vegas or Atlantic City, but it is sure is a worthy substitute for Seattle and Tacoma residents to enjoy.

Muckleshoot, which has been operating since April of 1995, is owned by the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe. The casino is located in Auburn, WA just off of highway 18. Although the location itself may not look terribly desirable, the parking area is extremely safe, with a covered parking area, as well as several police officers and security guards making sure patrons always feel safe and comfortable.

When you first approach the casino, you have your choice of two areas. The older area, which has been operating since the casino's opening, has several varieties of slot machines, such as; Texas Tea, Fairy Magic, Little Piggies, and Wheel of Fortune. The games in this part of the casino will probably be more familiar to people who have experience using slot machines. Many of the machines are in excellent condition, but there are also machines that have mechanical issues that seem to be due to age and extensive use.

The older side of the Casino also has several different types of games of skill, such as poker and roulette tables. I do not have experience with this type of gambling, but the tables look to be in decent condition and are always busy. The tables are roped off in the center of the casino with a bar for patrons to enjoy drinks and food while playing.

In addition to the machines and tables, there is a restaurant for patrons to enjoy a sit down meal, as well as a candy and ice cream shop which is open all night to accommodate even the late night patrons. I have eaten in the restaurant a few times, and the food was good, but I would not make a point of eating in the dining room. There are some casinos that have large buffets, with a wide variety of food choices, but Muckleshoot does not have this type of dining set up. For me, it only distracts me from my fun at the slot machines.

The older building has two cash cages, several ATM machines and credit card machines. The credit card machines will allow people to take money out after the ATM says no more. This, as I have found out the hard way one too many times, can be dangerous. The fee is much higher than a normal ATM and makes it too easy to take money that you shouldn't be spending. The ATM machines have a $300 limit, and for me this is the safest way to go.

Recently, Muckleshoot added on a new building to the already overflowing building of tables and machines. The new building offers a variety of more updated slot machines, as well as tables with roulette, blackjack, and craps. The machines tend to be more crowded in the new building and there are often long wait times on the very popular machines, such as Fairy Magic and Phantom of the Opera. The newer the machine, the longer the wait time.

Not everyone is a fan of gambling. Of course, if one is going to a casino, the first thought is gambling, but Muckleshoot does have entertainment for the non gambler or for people just looking for a break from the fast pace of the tables and machines. Auburn, WA may not be the top hot spot of the greater Seattle area, but for a bit of fun and entertainment and maybe a few dollars in your pocket, stop in at Muckleshoot and enjoy!
