A Review of the Nokia N97 Mini Camera: Get a Nokia N97 Mini and Leave Your Digital Camera Behind!
The Nokia N97 Mini comes equipped with an amazing 5 megapixel camera that can snap photos at a maximum resolution of approximately 2592 x 1944 pixels. As with most high end Nokia camera phones, the optics are done by Carl Zeiss and lighting and/or flash is provided by two LED lights alongside the camera lens.
The camera settings seen in the Nokia N97 Mini is exactly the same as that in the original N97 with the flash having its own shortcut in the menu. The many settings that can be adjusted in the camera options of the N97 Mini and include: exposure concentration, contrast, white balance, ISO and sharpness. The geo-tagging feature is starting to become a staple of most "high end" camera phones and the N97 Mini also has this feature.
The Nokia N97 Mini fails though to have many other settings that most other camera phones even below this price category have such as: blink detection and face detection among other things. This is a serious oversight by Nokia and prevents the camera from being a standout performer among the 5 megapixel category.
The picture quality of the Nokia N97 Mini is simply stunning and most photos have a lot of details while the photo noise is reduced to nothing, even under low light conditions. Many camera phones has noise and picture processing algorithms that cause the colors to either: fade, appear to sharp or too dull, have green, red or purple tints or have incorrect fringing. The Nokia N97 mini is not one of these phones.
Video recording options are similar to the still photo options and most of the videos recorded by the Nokia N97 Mini are adequate, though many other phones on the market offer far better video recording capabilities.
The camera of the Nokia N97 Mini takes such good photos that you will be tempted to leave your digital camera at home but the video recording leaves a lot to be desired.
