Several years ago I came across an internet site called Restaurant.com. I had a friend that used it quite regularly. This site specializes in selling discount coupons for restaurants. At certain times of the month they offer special codes where you can receive even deeper discounts. For instance, you can find a discount price of $2.00 for a $25.00 off your meal coupon. Normally these extra discount codes are emailed to you. If you miss the email, you can always search for the discount code online.
Before you sign up you can search on their website to see what restaurants in your area participate in their program. In my area in South Carolina there are 21 restaurants that take part in their program. In my sons area in Colorado there are 112 restaurants. It's a good idea to check areas where you might be visiting or vacationing. You can search from up to a 30 mile radius of your location.
There is no cost for membership. Registration is simple. You will need to provide your name, address, phone number, email address , and create a password. Once signed up you can just browse the restaurants in your area. I will guess that in most locations, you will find a restaurant that you either already frequent or one that you are interested in trying. Be sure to have your discount code in hand as you browse the restaurants. Once you find a restaurant that you want to try select it and add your code. For instance I found a restaurant that I wanted to try for our anniversary. There was a $25 coupon offered for $15.00. After I entered my discount code the $25.00 coupon only cost me $3.00. The only other restriction on the coupon was that you would need to spend a total of $50.00 and that the restaurant would include an 18% gratuity on the pre-discount price, which I thought was fair. This particular restaurant was kind of pricey to begin with and the $50.00 minimum order would be easily met with dinner for two.
Not all restaurants have the same restrictions or minimum purchases. Do be sure to read thoroughly the conditions of the coupon usage before you make your purchase. Also, be sure to have a discount code to use. Without the discount code you won't be taking full advantage of the savings. Most restaurants provide their menu you for you to view, and for some of the restaurants you can make a reservation. Seeing the menu is very helpful if you have never eaten at the establishment.
The payment method for your purchase is by credit card, Paypal, or Give Anything (which is some sort of gift certificate that I'm not familiar with). After you make your purchase you will then be able to print your coupon that you will need to take with you to your restaurant choice. I have saved a lot of money over the years with Restaurant.com. This is an extremely easy website to use. Be sure to check it out next time you are thinking of going out. You might be surprised at the savings.

Post a CommentWe absolutely love Restaurants.com, it has allowed us to eat out and eat out more, but on the cheap. This past Friday we got $35 worth of food for only $12. We used a coupon code to reduce the $10 cost to $2 then we had to pay the difference of $35 - 25 at the restaurant. Not bad at all We love to eat, and we love to save money while we eat. Thanks for sharing.

The only problem is you don't get your money back if the restaurants close or change their hours to ones you can't meet, etc. Sometimes you lose more money than you save.
Way cool! I've been stuck eating my own cooking at home too much of late (definitely not what a doctor or a dietician would recommend :oP ). Surely there must be several good restaurants in San Diego participating. Yum! :oD
Hmm, could be a money saver! Thanks.
Thanks for this helpful information!
Thank for this, very helpful.
thanks so much for this! Found alot in my area!
Interesting Pat, never thought of doing this. Cheers :)
I must live in some of the more remote regions of the United States. I plugged in a few of the area codes where I live or visit, and only two restaurants showed up. Oh well. I will keep it in mind for future reference. Maybe more restaurants will appear on the site the more popular it becomes (due to your article maybe ;)
Fantastic find!
