Have you ever seen those nail polishes that claim to make your nails grow quickly and wondered if they actually work? I tried Sally Hansen's Maximum Growth Daily Nail Growth Program to see if my nails would actually grow in the 5 days they claimed they would.

The Maximum Growth Daily Nail Growth nail polish helps to avoid peeling, chipping and splitting nails, while also helping nails that tend to be soft or brittle and break easily. This product is both salon and dermatologist tested to ensure it is safe for consumer use. In addition, Sally Hanson is committed to maintaining a healthy product and asserts that none of their products contain formaldehyde, toluene, or dibutyl phthalate, which many salon products contain. Ingredients this product does contain include butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, SD Alcohol 40-B, Nitrocellulose, tosylamide/formaldehyde resin, n-butyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, Triphenyl phosphate, Trimethyl Pentanyl Diisobutyrate, Ethyl Tosylamide, Camphor, Benzophenone-1, silk and possible Red 6 Lake and Violet 2.

The Maximum Growth Daily Nail Growth nail polish comes in a regular nail polish bottle. The polish inside the container appears pink, but it goes on clear. The application is smooth and one dip inside the nail polish container covers 2-3 nails. Since the formula is clear, there is no worry about any spill over to your finger tips or cuticles. Directions state that the bottle should be shaken gently, and one coat of the Maximum Growth Daily Nail Growth formula should be applied to clean, dry nails. If desired, application of Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Plus Nourishing Nail Color may be applied and then a second coat of the Maximum Growth to seal and protect. A new coat should be applied daily for 5 days. After the fifth day, remove all layers using a nail polish remover and reapply every other day.

I purchased this product at CVS for $4.99. It is also similarly priced at Target. After filing my nails, I applied the Maximum Growth Daily Nail Growth formula. I was pleased with the ease of application and the finished effects of shiny nails. Each day for 5 days, I reapplied another coat, without removing the last coat. At the end of this week, it was clear that this product was ready to come off as it had begun to peel slightly at the edges. I removed the product with a generic brand nail polish remover and reapplied. I was extremely pleased with the results of using this product after only 2 days, and very pleased by the end of the fifth day. My nails had begun to grow and white tips were beginning to form on my nails. Rather than apply every other day in the second week, I continued to use daily. Within 2 weeks I had shapely, strong athletic length nails and was very pleased with the look and healthiness of my nails.

Now, I use this product as a clear coat to maintain the growth. When applying a color, I will use this as a base coat and top coat to seal. For those who do not use their hands such as while painting or doing house repairs, you probably do not need to use it that often. However, I do find that when I do not have this polish on my nails, I tend to chip them doing home repairs which then leads to biting them. The Maximum Growth polish keeps my nails strong as the silk in the polish provides good protection for them from chips and other breakage.

I also highly recommend Sally Hansen Maximum Growth colors to use after you are satisfied with your nail growth using this product. I highly recommend Sally Hansen Maximum Nail Growth Daily Nail program as a way to grow stubborn nails and have been extremely satisfied with this product. It has lived up to its hype and a bottle lasts a good month and a half with frequent use. I have tried other nail growth programs and have not been satisfied with their claims to work. With Sally Hansen however, the claim is real and the results are beautiful, healthy, strong nails that I am proud to show off.
