A Review on Samsung NV3 Compact Camera and Multimedia Player

Although Samsung NV3 is not the top of its class, the features packed inside this digital camera is simply magnificent. Not only it performs as a digital camera, you can use it as a portable music and movie player. This is perfectly ideal to kill time if you happen to commute using local transportation to work. If you are looking for a high-end top of its class camera, then the Samsung NV3 is not for you. But most of the basic consumers are generally amateur users. Best of all, it has ASR mode or advanced shake reduction mode to help you stabilize the pictures you take, provided that you have a shaky hand. There's even a 'wise mode' where it will take two pictures consecutively where you can compare it later and pick the best one - one with flash and another in ASR mode.

But what amazed me was it can also play MP3 and movie. It has built-in stereo speakers that will play sound together with your video. However, don't expect crisp and clear sound coming out from the speakers. If you want better quality, simply plug in the earphones that are bundled together with the camera. The NV3 also has six equalizer modes - classical, dance, jazz, live, rock and 3D.

Another thing that captured my attention was you can in fact easily display your videos by simply connecting the video-out to your TV. You can opt to shoot your videos using the camera in three sizes - 320x240 pixels, 640x480 pixels, and 720x480 pixels. The video quality is pretty superb and furthermore you can optically zoom when shooting videos.

Lastly the Samsung NV3 can also act as a text reader. You can use it as an eBook reader that fit nicely into your pocket. This is pretty handy and I've never seen anyone reading an eBook on their camera - why don't you be the first?

As a conclusion, the NV3 provides excellent picture quality for an amateur photographer, good sound quality from its earphones, and can shoot video while displaying it in your TV. On the other hand, if you are a professional photographer or planning to be one, you might want to consider something much better. But for amateur photography, the NV3 can serve you well and it's not that pricey after all.
