A Review of the Show MEDIUM

What is it really like to have a psychic vision?
I notice that a lot of movies and TV shows these days have a go at depicting and telling what it is really like when it comes to various psychic phenomena.
The TV show Medium does a very good job in my opinion. It gets my endorsement.
The show accurately portrays how visions are often mere clues asking to be interpreted and investigated further.

People often ask me," How do you get psychic visions - what are they like"? To which I most often reply, "it is like having a dream - except you're awake".
So perhaps the Medium Show uses sleep-time dreaming as a theatrical device to make things less complex and more easily understandable. I wonder if, in real life, Alison Duboir gets her visions during night time sleeping?

Though, that having been said the defenses put up by our waking minds mean that it is actually far easier to be aware of and recall our 'psychic dreaming' that occurs during night time sleeping.
Some people interested in 'lucid dreaming' endeavour to develop a greater awareness of the stuff our dreams are made of. Some lucid dreamers can actually interact with their sleeping time, night time dreams.

In a program I once heard about lucid dreaming the commentator was saying that, despite having an ability of being able to interact with their dreams he had heard of no lucid dreamer who could turn a light on in such dreams. I pondered this for a while then one morning I awoke from one of my lucid dreams after having turned around a corner in a deep canyon and walked straight into the rising sun. I wondered if this qualified but I never got round to getting back to that commentator.

Yes - so psychic visions are a lot like dreams. They can be heard, felt, seen, smelt, etc. Any of the senses can provide visionary clues. And they may occur at any time and in any place. In fact an experienced psychic such as myself can easily turn off the 'normal' mind to switch into 'vision mode' at will.
However - just as is portrayed in the show Medium these visions can also be confusing and are most often not logical. They definitely do not follow any laws of logic.
And psychics can use mental devices designed to trigger visions too.
It is one thing to have visions but quite another thing entirely to have the ability to accurately interpret them.

Being a psychic detective involves uncovering the mystery and it is like putting a puzzle together until it makes sense and becomes usable. In fact I one day intend to write a book about one of my 'bigger cases' involving a serial killer. If any movie makers are out there looking for a good psychic thriller movie please do get in touch!
In fact solving a case can be like peeling an onion that is in a big box of onions that are all tied together with string. The box of onions represents the case in hand. You may have to partially peel one onion, then get sidetracked and start unpeeling another one and back and forth until eventually they are all peeled.

I'm a bit of an 'elitist' psychic. I pride myself on the fact that I don't need tools (such as tarot, runes, whatever) to give psychic readings and in fact I think that readers who use such tings should hesitate to call themselves psychics. Ask a potential reader you are considering going to if they can provide a full and comprehensive reading without tools to see if they really are psychic and not just a mystical kind of counselor.
Though having said that I find that most people prefer to think that something is giving the information and find it a bit disquieting that such things are actually not required if the reader is actually a real clairvoyant psychic.

Another thing I like about the show Medium is that Alison is a 'real person' who is also employed in a good job. Being psychic by and of itself is a useless skill unless it can be effectively used in a valid context.
The value of the psychic should be endorsed by some relevant context and be regarded as a tool albeit an often extremely useful one, and this, the show Medium also does very well.

Keep posted.
