Comfort is important for those who wear their headphones for long stretches of time. Skullcandy Lowrider headphones are light, only 7 ounces, with padding right where it's needed. There isn't an overabundance of padding, so the earphones are compact and don't cover up a huge part of each side of your head. With less padding, there's less heat to build up and cause discomfort, too. Nothing worse than having your ears overheat when you're listening to your favorite music. The downside of less padding is less noise reduction, but they have better noise reduction than the Skullcandy Ink'd earbuds. Read a review of those HERE.
Skullcandy Lowrider headphones have a clarity that is comparable to the higher priced headphones, with great highs, rich lows, and no sound distortion. The strong 40mm power drivers are what gives the great clarity, and something to look for when buying any headphones. The bass really comes through, which is good news for hip-hop and rap listeners.
When not in use, Skullcandy Lowrider headphones fold up into a neat little package, 7" x 6" x 3". The cord is about 4 feet long, which is good for an iPod, but might be a little restrictive if used with a desktop computer. The headband is the fold up kind, so a little care is needed when putting the headphones on. Be careful not to stretch the earphones out really far when you're putting them on or you'll either stretch or snap the headband. Adjust the sides first and slide them onto your head. This is the only negative aspect of the headphones, but if you're aware of the headband being the weakest point, you'll be able to make them last a long time.
If you're looking for stylish, light, affordable, comfortable headphones with good sound and clarity, then look no further than Skullcandy Lowrider headphones. If you want something more durable, you need to spend a little more money.
