I am a fan of many Snapps brand frozen appetizers and when I spotted a box of their Snapps Snackbites Cream Cheese Pepper Bites in the frozen foods section of my local Dollar Tree store, I was intrigued. I decided to purchase them, try them out and write a product review all about them. Here is what I discovered!
One box of Snapps Snackbites Cream Cheese Pepper Bites costs only one dollar at my local Dollar Tree store. I loved that very low price! One box has eight pepper bites in it. This snack is different. It is geared for jalapeno pepper lovers and also for cream cheese lovers. It has a cream cheese and jalapeno peppers filling tucked into a golden brown breading. That sounded very good to me. I could not wait to taste these!
You can prepare this snack a variety of ways. Deep fry, toaster oven or baking. I decided to bake these in a conventional oven. I preheated the oven to 450 degrees, placed the pepper bites on a baking sheet, baked for four minutes, flipped them and continued baking for five more minutes until they were golden brown. These looked marvelous! When I tasted these, I loved them. They are quite hot. I mean fiery. The box states that these are mild jalapeno filled. Don't believe it. These will set your mouth on fire and you better have a glass of something to drink by you when you try these. No kidding. The jalapeno pepper filling packs a hot punch. The mixture of them and the cream cheese filling is wonderful. Cool, creamy and hot. Whew! I liked the golden brown breading crust on these. This is a fun snack for those who love hot and spicy appetizers.
I rate Snapps Snackbites Cream Cheese Pepper Bites three and one half stars out of five stars. The heat is a bit hard to take and you won't be eating many of these at one time. You will sweat. Your tongue will remember them. They taste so good. But, the spicy jalapenos rule. One serving of these has 110 calories. 50 of those calories are from fat. One serving has 6 grams of total fat, 2 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 5 mg's of cholesterol, 140 mg's of sodium, 12 grams of total carbs, less than 1 gram of dietary fiber, 0 grams of sugar and 2 grams of protein.
I enjoyed trying Snapps Snackbites Cream Cheese Pepper Bites and writing this product review about them. They are a high quality restaurant appetizer that will wake your tongue up. These are only for those who truly love hot jalapeno peppers. You have been warned. Snapps also has many other frozen snacks and appetizers like loaded potato sticks, breaded mushrooms and cheese sticks, just to name a few. I like every snack I have tried from them, so far. They certainly are priced right.
