The small city of Muskegon, Michigan and its neighboring communities are filled with many great establishments and attractions of all kinds - not the least of which are the small, locally owned pizza and sub shops in town. You can find one in nearly every neighborhood, and they have one goal - to compete for your business in a world of fast food chains and pizzeria giants. But there a few here that do it a little bit better than the rest, and as a result, some of them have even become a staple part of the cuisine here in Muskegon. And this article is going to take a brief look at three of them.

JoJo's Pizza

JoJo's Pizza is the newest establishment to specialize in exquisite pizza and delectable sub sandwiches, but they have quickly become a fierce competitor here. They offer great daily and weekly specials, as well as a variety of subs and pizza toppings for you to choose from. The side dishes offered at JoJo's Pizza are some of the best, around too.

Gustino's

Gustino's has been around for a while, and there a few incarnations of the establishment in some nearby cities. They are known for their enormous grinders that are overflowing with toppings, but they also offers pizza, salads, and number of side dishes as well. If you ever stop by Gustino's, make sure to check out their Brew City Fries or pick up an order of their cheese and bacon covered potato skins - you won't be disappointed.

Tony's

Tony's has been around the longest out of all three of the pizza and sub chains that are covered here in this article, and they are the preferred choice by many. Their small shop, located on Apple Avenue in Muskegon has undergone many changes and renovations throughout the years, but they've always remained dedicated to provide quality service in the Muskegon area. Though they don't offer a variety that is quite as extensive as either Gustino's or JoJo's, the subs they do have are outstanding, and their pizza and breadsticks are amongst the best in town.

While none of these shops have the recognition or popularity as some of the large pizza chains such as Pizza Hut, Domino's or Papa John's, they do provide friendly services and great tasting food, with prices that are much more affordable than their better known big brothers in the industry. Regardless, JoJo's Pizza, Gustino's and Tony's are three establishments here in Muskegon, Michigan that are here to stay.
