A Review of Starkist Sensations Creamy Tuna Noodle Casserole: Frozen Entree

Affordable and 300 Calories

Bridgitte Williams

I am a long time fan of many Starkist brand foods. When I came across Starkist Sensations Creamy Tuna Noodle Casserole, in the frozen dinners section of my local Dollar Tree store, I was thrilled. This meal looked so good! I decided to purchase it, try it out and write a product review all about my experience with it. Here is what I discovered!

I bought Starkist Sensations Creamy Tuna Noodle Casserole for only one dollar. Now, that is a bargain. This is a single serve dish. It is very creative, interesting and different, I discovered. This dinner has whole wheat fusilli pasta, albacore tuna, peas, carrots, breadcrumbs, onions, cream and a three cheese sauce in it, among other ingredients. That all sounded fabulous to me. I could not wait to taste this dish!

Well, we all know Charlie the tuna, from the many Starkist tuna ads over the years. He is now Chef Charlie, according to the frozen dinner box. Very cute. This meal uses steam locked cooking and is microwave friendly. This dinner packs loads of calcium, vitamin A, iron, omega 3 and protein. It is also only 300 calories. That is great! You do not have to do any venting or piercing with this meal. I placed it in my microwave, heated on high for five minutes, let stand for two minutes, removed the cover, stirred and served. This dish looked wonderful and smelled marvelous!

When I tasted it, I liked it. The whole wheat pasta is very different and takes some getting used to. I know it is healthy and good for me. Still, I think that this meal would have been better with regular pasta. The creamy three cheese sauce makes this dish very special. It is perfect, cheesy and rich. The tuna is fresh tasting, as are the veggies. This is a hearty meal and it is filling. I rate it three and one half stars out of five stars. I will buy it again, especially if it is on sale. A relative of mine tried this dinner and she liked it a lot. I agree. It is fun to eat. For tuna lovers, this one is a must try. The wheat pasta and tuna combo is a memory maker.

Starkist Sensations Creamy Tuna Noodle Casserole has 300 calories. 80 of those calories are from fat. It has 9 grams of total fat, 3.5 grams of saturated fat, 2 grams of polyunsaturated fat, 2.5 grams of monounsaturated fat, 30 mg's of cholesterol, 870 mg's of sodium, 360 mg's of potassium, 35 grams of total carbs, 5 grams of dietary fiber, yay, 2 grams of sugars and 20 grams of protein. One serving of this tuna casserole provided me with forty-five percent of my daily vitamin A need. This product does contain tuna, wheat, milk and soy.

I enjoyed trying this easy frozen tuna casserole dinner and writing a product review about it. It saves me money and time spent in the kitchen. It is ready in a jiffy and an interesting meal to try. I must give Chef Charlie kudos on this one! What a cool dinner.
