A Review of Steve and Barry's Jeans

When Steve and Barry's University Wear first came to Lancaster, Ohio I was quite thrilled to have found an affordable store for buying work clothes. Over the brief few years Steve and Barry's was located in Lancaster I enjoyed watching the styles and selections grow. I was thrilled when women's wear expanded from one aisle to around a quarter of the store.

I discovered the Bitten line for women, which was associated with Sarah Jessica Parker and the Dear AB line of jeans. For around nine dollars you could purchase fantastic clothes ideal for any occasion. Steve and Barry's began offering shoes, dresses, bags and accessories in addition to the jeans and t shirts everyone expected from this affordable store.

Among my favorites included the Bitten boyfriend cut jeans, which are so comfortable and cute! These jeans are baggy in the right places and fit like a dream for those days that you don't want to wear anything skin tight. I loved wearing these jeans to work, in my opinion they were perfect for work. I also fell hard for the Dear AB jeans with 2 buttons and a zipper and button style back pockets. My boyfriend loves the way these jeans look on me, he isn't a fan of the baggy boyfriend cut jeans.

My only complaint about Steve and Barry's university Wear clothing is the sizes are not exactly accurate. I always had to buy my jeans one size up from my normal size. However, taking a minute to try on every article of clothing is the best way to always buy the perfect size.

Steve and Barry's University Wear was a fantastic store for back to school shopping and value. I feel sick every time I pay forty or more dollars for a pair of jeans. At Steve and Barry's University Wear my dollar stretched further and I still looked fashionable and fantastic, even on the tightest budget.

However, as the old saying goes all good things must come to an end. Late in 2008 this chain of stores closed its doors, much o my disappointment. I guess I am surprised that the store stayed open as long as it did, with prices so low they couldn't have been making a huge profit. Steve and Barry's University Wear will be missed. If you can find any Bitten or Dear AB jeans, I would highly recommend that you purchase them. They are absolutely the best jeans for the price. They are durable, stylish and well constructed.
