I am on location for a seven-week training seminar for Aarsand Management and for the first week I am staying at the Super 8 Motel in New Stanton, Pennsylvania. This motel is located just a few minutes from exit 75 off Interstate 79 (about 10 minutes from Irwin, PA). Here on Center Avenue there are a handful of hotels but this one stands out from the rest.

A clean and well-organized exterior parking lot welcomes you to this establishment. The front desk and main lobby are rather small but appears welcoming to the overnighter. I do have to admit that the front desk is not usually manned with someone waiting to help those who walk in the front door.

The interior is rather clean and tidy so no complaints to the overall appearance of this place, you will not be wondering if the 60's forgot this place when you are walking the halls here. This facility is a three story building (luckily I am staying on the first floor) and there is not elevator in the place! So much for being handicap accessible. There is one ice machine, soda vending machine ($1.50 for 20 ounce bottle), one snack vending machine (rather pricy too), one coin operated washer and dryer set ($2.00 total load cost), and one fitness room (one treadmill and stair cycle). This means that is you want anything during the night, you have to walk down three flights of stairs to get it and walk back up three flights to get back to your room if you are on the top floor.

The rooms in general are rather nice for a low cost motel. I have a King bed room with desk table and 25" color tv (extended basic cable package included), oh and there is a weak WiFi connection here as well in the rooms. I have two bars on the first floor I can imagine the poor connection upstairs!

The prices of the rooms are not bad for being right along the Interstate system. While I didn't pay for this room (thanks corporate), the door sign says rates can range from $89-95 per night for this King room so not too bad for those on a budget. They must make weekly deals too because corporate is only paying $60 a night for me to be here for the week before I move closer to my training site. The 6 nights here ran about $375.

Overall, this place is a good place to stay for the overnighter with no need for a pool or any real amenities. Good luck and happy travelling!
