A Review of 'Traitor's Keep' Quest Pack for Fable 3 on Xbox 360

Fable 3 was one of the best games of 2010, however its first DLC underwhelmingly lacked any challenge for those who had already claimed the throne. Fortunately, Lionhead Studios' new "Traitor's Keep" quest pack for Fable 3 is just what the doctor ordered.

The most entertaining part of the new Traitor's Keep DLC for Fable 3 is its plot, which would be wrong to spoil. Instead, lets take a look at what we get with Traitor's Keep.

In Traitor's Keep there are four new quests. They must be played in chronological order, and each rewards players with a substantial amount of guild points to earn (40-50 each). In addition to the new quests there are also two new costumes to collect (a prisoner outfit and Logan's soldier outfit). More importantly though, the Traitor's Keep DLC gives players three new regions to explore on the map.

Unlike the Understone Quest Pack, Traitor's Keep actually offers a substantial amount of of playtime. The new enemies are actually challenging to defeat. My hero was knocked out several times while playing through the new Traitor's Keep DLC, after having used several health potions. If you play straight through it without taking any side quests, Traitor's Keep takes just over two hours. Four if you take time to explore all that the new regions have to offer and search for collectible diaries.

Ravenscar Keep, a prison filled with mentally disturbed inmates, is central to the story and other quests in the Traitor's Keep DLC for Fable 3. You'll also visit Clockwork Island (where all of Fable's cool inventions originate from) and The Godwin Estate (located between Albion and Aurora).

While there are also three new weapons for your hero to smite enemies with, unfortunately they can only be obtained by playing the upcoming "Fable: Coin Golf" game on a Windows Phone 7. This isn't the first time Microsoft has tied in game weapons to a cell phone game - we saw this happen before with Crackdown 2's Deluge DLC.

If you must make the choice between buying only the Understone Quest Pack or the new Traitor's Keep DLC, I'd recommend Traitor's Keep.

Considering the fact that the new Traitor's Keep DLC for Fable 3 costs less than a movie ticket and will entertain you for twice as long, purchasing it is a no-brainer.
