Urban Decay. With a name unlike any other cosmetic company in the business, you wonder.... What is this brand about? Its Web site describes the makeup as pretty, twisted, beautiful yet sometimes unusual, feminine, fun, and dangerous. Are these characteristics reflected in their products? I'd be lying if I said no....

Their most raved about product, Urban Decay Primer Potion, deserves it's hype. When I use it, it makes my eyeshadow not crease, last twice as long, and it makes any color truly pop. While I have not tried the leading competitor, Too Faced Shadow Insurance, I don't think I ever will. Urban Decay Primer Potion is my go-to eye primer and everything else seems inadequate by comparison.

Another product with lots of hype is their 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil. While I personally do not have any of these, I got a chance to try one in Zero. They are so creamy and smooth and they apply so well that I am planning to buy all of them. They last for so long and they are very moisturizing, which is weird for an eyeliner, I know. The array of colors is phenomenal and the smudge policy is right on. After thirty seconds, you cannot smudge them. They stay put perfectly, just like an eyeliner should.

Their Big Fatty mascara is not my favorite, but I do like it better than the MAC ones I have tried. It is very thickening like they say, and with two coats your eyelashes look amazing. I don't know if I would recommend it to someone who is very picky about mascara, but I would recommend it otherwise.

Urban Decay eyeshadow is extremely pigmented and the color array is wonderful. Although you are paying a few dollars more than a MAC shadow, for instance, I feel like the Urban Decay shadows are worth it for the extra color pop and the wear duration, even without the famed Primer Potion. They also have a lot of eyeshadow palettes, which is one item I love to collect. The packaging is always different, there is a good color assortment in each one, and they are a great way to save money. Urban Decay also has Deluxe Shadows which have very special packaging and more product for only a little more money. Although Urban Decay is expensive, you really get what you pay for in their shadows and palettes.

For someone who is not an eyeliner fiend, I feel like the Eyeshadow Transforming Potion is very well worth it. I do not have many shadows, so I use this to get any color of eyeliner I want. It creates a smooth product and a smooth line and with the different brush sizes, it can help you complete any look.

I like their glitter eyeliners a lot as they have lots of colors and the consistency is better than any other glitter eyeliner I've used. I also like their liquid eyeliners as they are easy to use and the formula is perfect for the perfect line. Both the glitter and the liquid liners are extremely pigmented and do not smudge or flake. Their cream shadows are also great and can be worn by themselves or under their other colors. A little goes a long way and they blend out very nicely.

I have not tried many of their lip products, but I absolutely adore the Urban Decay lipstick and their 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils. These are much like the eye ones and pretty much the only lip liner I will use. The lipstick colors are incredible and not drying like most lipsticks. I recommend these in a heartbeat.

I only have one face product, but I love it to death and I will never use anything else. That is my Urban Decay De-Slick Powder. The De-Slick powder is a finishing powder which is made to absorb oil on your face. However, it completely brightens my face and leaves my skin and makeup looking wonderful. It comes in the cutest purple compact and it is very portable. I take it with me everywhere and I don't have to be worried about shiny spots. Ever. It is expensive, retailing at $29, but for someone like me living in a hot climate with a good amount of humidity, it is a godsend.

I do not own any body products from them, or any brushes as they are more expensive than MAC brushes. I have, however, used their nail polish and I like it a lot. It is one of my favorite nail polish brands and this might be because they have been working on the formula since the brand launched in 1996.

I am a sucker for packaging and their packaging is quite possibly my favorite. From the simplest thing (a mascara) to an eyeshadow palette, everything is purple and the and has adorable print on it. It is just purple enough to appeal to a girly girl and just edgy enough to appeal to the more alternative makeup tastes. Their packaging stands out anywhere and draws in anyone's eye.

Though Urban Decay is targeted at a certain audience, it appeals to people of all ages. My mother has more Urban Decay than me and she is near fifty! I have seen people buy it as young as thirteen and as old as mid-fifties. With their array of products and their philosophy on makeup, it's hard not to appeal to all kinds of audiences.

Another pro to buying Urban Decay products is the fact that they do not test on animals. They are approved by PETA and a variety of other animal organizations. Almost all of Urban Decay's products are vegan including their most popular products like their 24/7 pencils, their eyeshadow, and their primer potion. The list goes on and it would take forever and a day to list all of it.

Urban Decay is on the expensive side, but as I have mentioned earlier, I think they are well worth the money. I would rather save for one amazing Urban Decay Eyeshadow than three shadows that sat there while I wished they were Urban Decay. They are probably my favorite makeup brand out there today and I think they have a steady line of products. I do not collect their products, but the ones I have I use everyday.

I would trade any other eyeshadow for an Urban Decay one and cannot recommend this brand enough. Whether you are just getting into makeup or are looking to make your look more unique, they make their products incredible and so easy to work with. Urban Decay is a must in my makeup stash and should be in yours, too.
