A Review of Victoria's Secret Body Splash: Fresh, Fun and Flirty

Candice Cain
I am one of those women that enjoy nice smells. I love bath gels, perfumes, splashes, lotions... You name it and I use it. Perhaps I don't use them all at the same time, but I do like dabbling here and there.

My bathroom cabinet is absolutely filled with Victoria's Secret Garden products. I especially like the Victoria's Secret Garden Body Splash. I use it after every shower and before I get dressed in the morning.

I go through cycles with the different scents. Among my favorites are:

Turquoise Paradise - I think this one has been discontinued, but you'll be able to purchase it at the Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual Sale. This is a floral scent, with undertones of rose, lily, gardenia, and some tropical notes. (I want to say it's pineapple, but I'm not certain.)

Sugar and Spice- This is a sweet, yet woodsy scent. You may think that is an odd combination, but it smells quite good. It may be a little too sweet for some people, as I have been told that it smells like cotton candy. There are also hints of amber and freesia in it.

Riviera Sun- If you like the scent of Sunflowers, you'll love the scent of this. It's fresh, crisp and clean. I bring this one with me when I travel, because it is appropriate for any time.

Strawberries and Champagne- Very sweet! I wear this when I'm feeling feminine. It is a blens of strawberry, hyacinth, peach, casis, white flowers and sandalwood. The sandalwood, which is a scent I usually don't enjoy, is very subtle.

Unfortunately, the Victoria's Secret website only gives descriptions of eight of their scents. The only scents you can purchase through the website are Love Spell, Strawberries and Champagne, Pear Glace, Vanilla Lace, Blissful Moment, Tender Whisper, Endless Love and Amber Romance. You will find a much larger variety in any Victoria's Secret store.

All of the Victoia's Secret Garden Body Splash contain: SD Alcohol 40-B, Water, Fragrance, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Benzophenone-2, Chamomile Extract, and Aloe Barbadensis Extract.

When you first spray on any of the scents, you will smell the alcohol. Don't worry-- It will dissapate in a few seconds, leaving behind a very light scent. The scent will last you all day long, but will lighten up as time goes on. Since it is in a spray bottle, it isn't enough to dry out your skin.

If you want a stronger scent, use the same scented bath gel, body spray and lotion. (This is called "layering.") I don't get that carried away, as I like using other perfumes. The Victoria's Secret Garden Bosy Splash doesn't interfere with any other scent you may put on. I have found that it just enhances it.

An 8oz. bottle sells for $9. You can usually purchase them 3 for $23 (a savings of $4) or 5 for $30 (a savings of $15). This is a sale that is constantly on the Victoria's Secret Website. If you go to the semi-annual you'll be sure to find a good deal on a lot of scents, especially ones that have been discontinued.
