A Review of Why Did I Get Married?

Allie Bojko
The movie Why Did I Get Married simply works to perfection the whole acting cast pours every bit of their heart and soul into this movie and although it seems like Tyler Perry goes a little overboard with his character, he does eventually prevail. The movie Why Did I Get Married revolves around four couples that get together every year at the Rocky Mountain's resort for their annual "let's save our already broken marriage event"which is their way towards restoring their relationships over one long weekend. Since this is a Tyler Perry film expect a lot of things to happen over the course of that long weekend you'll be sure to get some laughs, emotion, several rocky heartbreaks, and a very decent Christian core that is always accompanied in all of his movies.

Janet Jackson in this movie leads the whole acting cast as the relationship guru who plans everything throughout the weekend and with the support of her loving husband (played by Malik Yoba). There's the loving and strongest of all couples in the likes of (Sharon Leal and Tyler Perry), there's a fighting and drinking problem in the relationship of (Tasha Smith and Michael Jai White) and the most abusive of all relationships in the couple of (Richard T. Jones and Jill Scott). By the time the weekend officially ends, in typical Tyler Perry fashion, there will be many secrets told and many of the couple's lives may get better or worse at the weeks end. The entire cast maintains a solid performance throughout the film, the one that stands out the most to me is Jill Scott's character as the warm and gentle women that tries to get past her cheating husband's lying ways and Tasha Smith who's also great in the movie for the way she nails every line she has in the movie

Tyler Perry always takes chances in his movie's that other filmmakers don't take the chance in doing and that's simply why he has certainly become to me as one of my favorite movie writers, he speaks out on the everyday issues that people deal with and puts them into his movies. There were some decent performances by both Tyler Perry and Janet Jackson , Tyler Perry clearly demonstrated that he no longer needs to dress in drag in order to be a good enough actor in order for him to be considered an accomplished actor.

Tyler Perry can really disregard what the fil critics say about his movie because they simply don't understand his movies. Tyler Perry's movies always reach out to the urban markets and to me as well because I'm certainly a fan of his films. Tyler Perry's still very bright future as a filmmaker is still very much intact an only continues to get better as time progresses. I also love how he had a tough life and just came out of nowhere and made a name for himself, it's this reason alone that I truly respect him as a person and as a filmmaker because I understand every story or message he conveys into his movies. No one in the cast gave a terrible performance considering many were new and upcoming stars and that really impressed me, Tyler Perry takes chances on unknowns and tries to make them known through his films. All of the characters in the movie Why Did I Get Married were in fact very memorable and how we care about their relationships' end result. I truly appreciate the individuals that have taken time out of their day to read this review I am certainly thankful for that.
