A Review of Wolfgang Puck Organic Tortilla Soup
This Canned Soup was Very, Very Good and I was Very Glad that I Tried It
Preparing the Wolfgang Puck Organic Tortilla Soup was not difficult at all and it didn't take long either. I didn't need to add any water as the tortilla soup was ready as is in the can, I did need to heat it up though. All that this entailed was to put it into a medium sauce pan and put the pan over low heat and then heat the soup for several minutes. I let the soup cool just enough so that it would not burn my tongue and took my first bite. This soup was positively excellent. It was full of a ton of flavor even though it was a canned soup. In fact it was one of the best canned soups that I have tasted. I instantly could see why it was called tortilla soup because there was a distinct tortilla flavor in the soup. The beans and corn in the soup were delicious, cooked perfectly without becoming mushy. The tomatoes in the Wolfgang Puck Organic Tortilla Soup were well seasoned and also tasted delicious. There was also the presence of some hot peppers that made me think that this soup would go excellent with a bean dish or some quesadillas. I was curious to find out what hot peppers were used in the soup as well as what the other ingredients were.
The Wolfgang Puck Organic Tortilla Soup first consisted of an organic vegetable stock. This stock was made of water, organic vegetables and organic concentrated vegetables that included carrots, celery, onions and tomatoes. Also in the stock was salt, organic autolyzed yeast paste, organic cane sugar, organic soy sauce made of water, organic soy beans, salt and organic alcohol, organic maltodextrin, natural flavor, organic potato starch, autolyzed yeast extract, organic dried onion, organic dried garlic and organic spice. In the soup were organic tomatoes that were in organic tomato juice with calcium chloride and citric acid, organic onions, organic corn, organic black beans, organic cornmeal and organic red peppers also. There was also two percent or less of organic tomato paste, organic extra virgin olive oil, evaporated organic cane juice, sea salt, organic spice and organic jalapeno peppers. The cornmeal must of been where the tortilla taste came from. I was quite impressed with these ingredients and inspired to improve my own soup. I also wondered about the nutrition facts that came from this organic tortilla soup.
The can of Wolfgang Puck Organic Tortilla Soup contained about two cups of soup. A cup of this soup is a serving size and in every serving there was one hundred and sixty calories with only thirty calories from fat. In addition each cup of this organic tortilla soup contained nine hundred and eighty milligrams of sodium. I thought that this was awfully high but the rest of the nutrition facts looked pretty good. In a serving there was twenty-seven grams of carbohydrates, six grams of fiber, seven grams of sugars and five grams of protein. The minerals and vitamins portion of the nutrition facts for the Wolfgang Puck Organic Tortilla Soup stated that vitamin A was listed with eight percent, as was iron, calcium was listed with six percent and vitamin C was listed with four percent. All in all I thought that the nutrition facts of the organic tortilla soup were good and I was glad that I got the can of soup.
Even on sale the Wolfgang Puck Organic Tortilla Soup is a little bit more than some other organic soups. However I can see why, it was on sale for two dollars for a can that again has two cups of soup. I thought that this was a very fair price considering all of the wonderful ingredients used and of course the delicious taste that comes with this tortilla soup. I am so glad that I tried it and definitely plan to get it again. I would highly recommend for anyone else who likes tortilla soup to give the Wolfgang Puck Organic Tortilla Soup a try. Even if you are not sure what it taste like and whether or not you would like it I would still recommend to try it. Prior to trying this soup I also tried Organic Thick Hearty Lentil and Vegetables Soup.
