A Romantic Birthday Surprise

Have you ever experienced a BIG surprise for you birthday? My biggest most romantic moment was a very big surprise and it happened on my 18th birthday. Everyone except me knew what was in store for the day, but when it happened I was so happy I cried.

It was my birthday and everyone was acting odd. It was like they were more excited for my party than I was. I waited for my family to show up for my party, and when they did it was great. We ate cake and icecream, and we laughed a memories. My boyfriend had been my best friend. We met when we were eight years old, but had recently gotten close before we started dating.

Mom decided it was time for presents, so we all gathered in the dinning room. I was reading cards and opening presents. My boyfriend handed me a card and told me to read it. As I started reading he knelt down, so I got nervous. My heart was pounding and I re-read the card four times before I finally looked up. He looked me in the eyes and held up a beautiful ring and said, "will you marry me?" I said, "yes!" and cried.

He had asked my parents permission to propose the night I graduated high school. He had been extremely nervous. He told me he had been in love with me for almost three years, but was too shy to tell me, and he could not see his life without me. Growing up we never knew we would end up engaged, or having a life together.

Now we have a date set for our wedding and will be happily married in June of 2012. I will always remember everything from that day because it was the most romantic moment of my life. I hope everyone has a moment as romantic as that. Everyone deserves a fairytale ending, just sometimes it takes you a while to find one.
