A Romantic Spot to Have Dinner in Detroit, Michigan

As soon as you enter the doors, DIAMONDS on the RIVER offers a warming ambiance. The Community Complex holds an Annual Valentine's Day Brunch for its community.

The cost is only $5, and with that price, you are offered a buffet dinner consisting of some of the most mouth-watering dishes. You have a choice of Breakfast meats, grits, hashbrowns, biscuits/rolls and some fruits and vegetables, along with your choice of juice, coffee, or tea.

The setting is even more elegant as soft music is being played for the guests. Sitting areas are comfortably available with a TV area, and sofas. Added to the ambiance, the decor is fabulous as you enjoy the finest table settings and welcoming personalities of the staff.

Although the brunch only lasts for five hours, you'll feel as if you've been there a lifetime! The complex also offers their guests the opportunity to hit their dancefloor and take romance to another level! I've witnessed this atmosphere many times, and I return every year for a grand romantic experience.

One year I attended the Valentine's Day Brunch, and enjoyed watching a couple re-kindle their love, after having been through a trying time in their marriage; they had lost two children to murder, the husband had lost his job and had an affair, and the wife was now battling Cancer. When the couple arrived, they sat across from one another, not giving any form of affection. Their conversation was stale and to a minimum, without any emotions.

By the time, the couple had eaten the main course, they were sitting a bit closer, and the husband was actually feeding his wife of more than 30 years. Their love had been re-kindled!! After drinks, they made their way to the dancefloor, and didn't want the music to end. They danced close, and sensual. Reliving the days when their love was stronger, and undeniable. I know that I seen a tear fall from the wife's eye, and her husband gently rub it away as he kissed her.

Before they left, the wife made certain that she thanked DIAMONDS on the RIVER for helping them re-kindle their love affair! "We were riding down Grand River and noticed the Marquee. Since we both hadn't eaten yet, we decided to stop in, and I'm glad we did!", she said tearfully!

Very nice. Now I know of a great place to go next time I'm downtown. And it's a lot cheaper than the casinos!
