A Scent of Spring

The Lilac Bush

RANDY DEABAY
It's beginning, of so many years gone by
Planted by a wonderful grandmother from yesterday
Glooming more refined with every passing day
Many humming birds will stop on their fly by
To stop and admire the deep beauty that radiates
A fragrance from each blossom so sweet and beautiful
Permeates all that it touches as it passes on through
Colors of nature's beauty in pink, purple, white and lavender
Each nimble and strong limb bowing to the petals so gorgeous
With new energy flowing wildly as the blossom begins its life
To a modern creation full of sunshine, happiness, and memories
The Lilac, a true sign that begins of springs determined onslaught
To the current seasons that nature gives such beauties
The perfume of heaven given, while colors so magnificent and bold
A unique history that each bud, each branch, every shoot has told
An offering of spring, a gesture of a new day, as the pinnacles open this day
