A Season of Skin Tones and Flattering Colors

Invest Kid
There is so much diversity in the world, and with that comes different skin tones. We must admit that a pale British woman does not look flattering in the same color shades and an African-American woman. These differences give us the season of skin tones.

"Winter" skin tones can be described as women with olive to brown skin. As far as ethnicity goes, winter skin tones are usually African-Americans and Asians. These complexions general look their best with sharp colors such as navy, red, white, black, deep pink, and light blue. Avoiding colors that tend to blend in with the skin tone is very ideal.

"Spring" skin tones are described as those with strawberry red hair or freckles. Dark colors should be avoided as much as possible. A bright color like gold or green will bring out facial features more.

"Summer" tones are generally those who are natural blonds or light brunettes. Colors such as blue and rose compliment features best while black and brown drown them out.

"Autumn" tones are those with red hair or golden brown hair. Always avoid wearing reds and oranges! Navy, purple, and green will prevent you from standing out too much, as opposed to red!

Although the seasons of skin tones broadly describe color choices, you should never rule anything out. (Well, maybe except for the red heads with red shirts!) Your season may vary depending on how much time you spend in the sun. But as a basic guide, remember your season and you'll never go wrong!

This is dumb. The article's title made me believe we were talking about skin tones and then most of the article focused on hair color. This didn't help AT ALL
