A Serenade from My Husband

Just Feels so Wonderful to Be Loved that I Couldn't Help but Cry

Well, husband and I checked into a local hotel--a complimentary gift actually--on the eve of Valentine's Day. This is probably our last outing with an empty nest as we are expecting our little princess next month already.

Anyway, while we were snuggling in bed and watching TV, I asked him if he could sing for me. He turned off the TV and sang a capella the words of "How Did You Know" and "You." While we were just dating, he did sing these songs to me, while we were sitting in the patio or walking in our garden when he used to visit me at home. So these songs just meant a lot to me--to us.

He sang the songs from the heart and I could just feel the lyrics piercing through my heart. I couldn't help but cry. For me, that is enough for a Valentine's gift.

Then he wondered why I cried. Told him it feels good to be loved. He said that a few hours ago, he wanted to buy me flowers but he wondered if I would like it because I always say that flowers are expensive. And yeah, I mean it because during Valentine's, flowers are really very expensive and well, we have other things to think of. But I wouldn't mind spending for a good meal.

Anyway, I told him it is okay, after all, I know that he loves me everyday, and not just Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day to all! I hope that your everyday is a celebration of love, not just on Feb. 14.
