A Series of Thoughts During Work

There is No Intro, Body, Conclusion; No Plot, Just One-liners

You're special. In that "short bus" kind of way.

Happy Birthday, precious teen! Crushing responsibility, bills, brain-dead coworkers, and emotional sterility are just around the corner.

Congratulations, Graduate! It is said college is the best part of your life. And now it is over. HA-HA.

Appearances ARE everything. Why do you think it takes so much effort to convince people to the contrary?

Races and ethnicities are superficial. We are all the same. Think of your vices. Nobody on Earth is any better. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a race of beings who were above such things?

The difference between what you can do and what you should do... well... pretend I said something inspirational.

Those who assert that deep eye contact can reveal what's inside a person are way off. Try spilling their guts. An instinctive revulsion, almost nauseating, soaks through the human observer. Notice how that works to the same effect with both methods of observation.

God created the heavens and the earth. Depths of the latter are depicted as hell, while heaven is in the depths of the former. Keep in mind that heavens contain many earths, yet they are still divine. Only one earth contains us. I rest my case.

I get what they mean when people say "It was wrong, but felt so right." There's a faint clue of how magnificently right it feels to do something noble. But I haven't done such a thing. To even contemplate it rips apart my ego and exposes the fact that I am mostly a coward or a weasel.

I was going to get lunch, but instead sat in my car with the window down and looked at the grass for an hour. That was the highlight of my day, and it was a pretty good day. No, I wasn't driving during this meditation.

My head explodes into candy whenever someone pontificates to the effect of "maybe all we know is REALLY an ILLUSION".

I am not amazed that heavy machines can fly. I am amazed that some are amazed by such a thing.

In this country, modesty is scarcely correlated with virtue. If it is, it shouldn't be. About 60% of us are diagnosed as overweight. Do you really want to see everyone naked now? Didn't think so.
