not enough giving, understanding, compassion, love, acceptance
I am your mirror image, and you are mine
different and the same, forever we're entwined
our differences empower us, one and all who breathe
but others tell us different, determined to deceive
what a shame it is the truth for some seems too easily redefined
just like our history books in school, the "facts" so carefully mined
mustn't speak up, or out against the powers that be
for the truth is not a lie, and the truth shall set us free
while these words may seem contrived, I promise that's not true
they came from deep within my heart, into which I welcome you
