A Short Guide to Using Affirmations

Change Your Mind, Change Your Life

An affirmation (from Latinaffirmare, to assert) is the declaration that something is true. An affirmation is simply a statement, repeated time and time again, verbally, mentally, or in written form. An affirmation is a highly effective tool for self-change when it is used correctly.

When affirmations are worded correctly, they help you tap into the unlimited creative power of your subconscious mind, and can help you manifest your sincere desires. To become even more effective, visulation is also applied. When you visualize your affirmation, when you see it in your mind, it becomes much more effective in releasing the creative power s of change.

The correct wording of affirmations is a very important step in the process of using affirmations. To be most effective, affirmations should be worded in the present tense. For example, the following affirmations are all using the present tense:

"I am what I choose to be"

"I Love and accept myself exactly as I am"

" I am healthy and happy"

___________ comes to me easily and effortlessly"

"I have the ability to handle all problems that may come my way"

These examples are all in the present tense. They all inform your subconscious mind that these things are occurring now, this minute. Your mind will receive this information and will act on it as if it is fact. With repetition, your beliefs will become fact.

Another thing to bear in mind is affirmations must also be positive statements. Always affirm what you want rather than what you do not want. For example, " I am no longer sick" is a negative statement. It implies you are sick. Your subconscious mind will reflect this. The affirmation you should say would be "I am perfectly healthy in my mind, body and spirit" This statement is positive, and reinforces your desired goal of achieving ha healthy state. Your subconscious will not become confused with the mention of an unwanted condition.

Keep your affirmations short and to the point. They will be much more effective and have a much greater impact if kept short and to the point. They will also be much easier to learn and repeat.

The foundations of creating good affirmations are just that simple. But after you have written them, using them is next. When you use your affirmations, remember the following:

Repetition - The most important step. Repition cannot be stressed enough. The more your affirmation is repeated, the greater impact and imprint it will have on your subconscious mind.

Emotions - Become involved emotionally when repeating your affirmations. Think clearly about the words you are repeating. Be passionate about them.

Be persistent - Using your affirmations in a persistent manor will help you achieve your results much sooner than an inconsistent and sporadic use. Successive use of your affirmations will compound their effectiveness, and results will come more quickly.

Have a Belief in your Affirmations - If you do not fully believe in your affirmation at first, it is OK. It will become easier to believe in them as you see and feel the successes. What you do need to do is develop the ability to "feel" how you would feel when the affirmation becomes reality. In other words, you need to "feel" within you, as you say your affirmations, the feeling that what you desire has already happened. Without this feeling, this belief, your affirmations will be meaningless.

That is the basics. It is simple, it is easy, and it is effective when you write and use affirmations correctly. Now, go and create the life you desire.
