John Messina
With the introduction of new improved digital picture frames, displaying your favorite photos in a digital frame is becoming very attractive.

These digital picture frames can hold a large amount of pictures, which will depend on the size of the memory module in the frame. Now imagine having a single picture frame that can display all your favorite photos. You can even set the time duration that each photo will display for.

Some of these frames have built in wireless connection that can communicate with the internet through your wireless router. You can now share photos with Flickr and Picasa as well with some social network sites.

Don't have a wireless router then you can purchase a digital frame that has a telephone jack and dials up a service so that you can share photos. This is an optional service that is not free. With two of these digital frames each one can communicate with one another, at set times, and share pictures.

These digital frames are ideal for your children's grandparents. Whenever your have new pictures of your children you can upload them to a picture service and your parent's digital frame will retrieve the new pictures and display them in their frame.

There are some new digital frames that just came out that have display ions on the front. These icons eliminate the hassle of looking for the correct buttons so that you can program the frame. Some of these frames even have built in speakers so that you can connect an iPod to them.

These digital frames make the perfect gift for grandparents and other family members. You can purchase a 7 inch frame for about $60 to $100 dollars. Digital frames in the 8 to 10 inch size can run you about $180 to $230. There are a lot of new companies coming out with these digital frames so you should see the prices dropping for the larger frames.

There's one company worth mentioning called Smartparts. They just came out with an 8 inch dark wood grain frame that has a built in printer and retails for around $260. The printer uses a dye-sublimation technology and can print 36 4 by 6 inch prints with one ink cartridge. The replacement ink cartridges cost between $20 and $25.

Digital frames are getting better and coming out with more features and options that ever before. They should definitely be considered for someone that loves to share and display their photo collection.
