If you are an artist then you must know that compiling your pieces of work to show someone else is a lot of work. After you have made your wonderful pieces you need to be able to show them off to someone else in the best way possible. Many times artists have large portfolios that are heavy and unmanageable when they are going to show prospective employers their work. It is better to have a smaller one that is easy to carry and still showcases all of your fantastic pieces. Here are some ideas for you to use so that you can make your portfolio the best that it can be. You will also find these tips will help you in the long run, too because it will be so much easier to take your work around to show other people.

When you are considering a portfolio there are many different styles to choose from. Do not just consider one, but shop around at different stores and use the online services, too. Find the one that will be comfortable for you. A smaller, lightweight one is ideal, because you will be able to carry it without any discomfort. A large, heavy portfolio can do a lot of damage to the arm muscles when you carry it about for a long time. A smaller, lighter one is always advisable.

To prepare your works of art for a smaller portfolio there are several things that you can do. You can take photographs of your works of art and they will fit perfectly in a smaller portfolio. You can also take copies of the works of art and have them reduced. Showing your ideas is the key concept and even if your piece of art is large you can still show the idea in a smaller version and therefore it will be easier for you to carry around and show to other people.

You might even want to consider a miniature portfolio. You can find some that fit in your purse or in your pocket. You will need to look around the shops for them. When you use a miniature portfolio, make sure that when you reduce copies of your work that they are clear and recognizable. You can then take this miniature portfolio around anywhere you go to show others all the great works that you have completed.

Using a smaller portfolio is the way to go because it is lighter and less stressful on the body. You still get to show off your work and others will appreciate it, too. Not only will you look smart while you are sowing your work, but you will take up a lot less space on someone's desk when they want to see your work. Use these tips wisely and make your portfolio one that will stand out from all the rest.
