A Smile Can Go a Long Way - A Poem
A Day at Work
say hi
to anyone I pass.
but everyone seems
so down today
I finally had to ask
You look so sad
no answer back
what's wrong with you today
Seems everyone
I speak to
has nothing back to say
You said you're sorry
you did not hear
your thoughts were somewhere else
Is that the way for everyone
who finds it hard to smile
to think of something nice for once
not problems for awhile
I know that life for each of us
at times can be so hard
but dwelling on it all the time
can't help but leave a scar
Habits form if you don't try
to have a happy day
seems problems linger
on and on they never go away
Your sadness, frowns, unhappy face
is all I ever see
A smile can go a long, long way
at least it can for me.
