Kim and I live in Ecuador so we reap the benefit of having fruits and vegetables year round. We really only have two seasons here rainy and dry. One of our favorite things to make in the mornings is smoothies. They are very filling and are good for you. Here are the ingredients for a smoothie I made yesterday.
ΒΌ cup of water
15 medium strawberries
1 banana
1 large mango
1 handful of spinach (we use leaf spinach)
Pour the water into the blender and put in your spinach, blend until liquefied. Then I blend in each remaining ingredient separately. Once I have all the ingredients blended together, I blend on high for another minute. This makes a very nutritional smoothie.
My wife likes to add ice and blends it into her smoothie.
Did I hear a YUCK come out of your mouth when you read spinach? Do not worry, you will not even taste the spinach. For those of you that have kids that hate spinach, this would be a good way to get it into their system.
(I usually do not care for mangos to much, but I have a friend that owns a farm here. He grows a type of mango that is called an Edward, which is very sweet.)
