A Snowflake like No Other

We enter on a child speaking to her mother
Wondering why her costume can be like no other
Other kids will have shiny costumes and glitter
Hers is being made with sheets and hangers
"Mommy I will be different," she cried"
Let me tell you a special story," mommy sighed.
"Snowflakes are not all the same, all the time
They come in all styles, shapes, and sizes.
Snowflakes are like children my darling,
Can you imagine if you were all alike?
I love you daughter, so just wait and see
You may be different, but beautiful you will be.
Now come here my daughter lets try this on
Raise your arms high, lets see what we've got
I cant imagine a costume more beautiful
You my angel, are a true snowflake original.
" With those words a tiny smile
Stretched so far it could be seen for miles.
For even though they had not money enough
This snowflake costume, was made with love.
They sat with cocoa in hand
As they watched the snowflakes land
The mother thanked someone above
For giving her guidance and more than enough love.
