A Sonnet About Beautiful Springtime

lori beeler
The sun shines brightly in the sky
The flowers bloom in splendor
The trees stand straight and reach high
And the new shoots and buds are very tender

The morning birds sing a sweet song
The air is filled with dew
Animals scurry around and nothing is wrong
And the day begins again so sweet and new

The water shimmers in the morning sun
The wind whips up little waves along the shore
The clouds moving swiftly like a child having fun
And you notice things never noticed before

It is spring and its beauty has arrived
Now is the time when things are truly alive
