You are going to need to get a nice size tin for cookies, it can be from a dollar store. Preferably a plain tin, but a Christmas tin will do. Have your kids decorate the cookie tin, leave the decorations to them. Be there to help but whatever they want to put on the tin should be what goes on the tin. I recommend using construction paper for younger children, it is easy for them to glue paper onto the tin. The decorations can be cut out snowflakes, cut out Christmas trees or they can even cut out houses and make a little Christmas village. For older children, you can let them paint on the tin or any other decorating ideas you have for them.
Have your children help you bake Christmas cookies. They can cut out and decorate sugar cookies, put M&Ms on top of chocolate chip cookies or put icing decorations on top of any kind of cookies. There are many ways to let them decorate cookies. After the cookies are done and cooled you place them in the cookie tin that your children decorated. Top the cookie tin with either a homemade ornament that the children made or a candy cane.
Set the cookie tin aside and have the children make their teacher a homemade Christmas card. There are many ways to make Christmas cards, you can just use construction paper, you can use glitter, stickers and so much more. Let your children decide how they want to make their teacher's card. Add the card to the top of the tin and your child has a great gift ready to hand to their teacher.
This is great for your children and their teacher. Their teachers are teaching them various things including art. This will show their teacher that the children had fun making it and that they respect their teacher enough to take the time to make it for them. It is great for the children as most children enjoy crafts and they will be proud of what they made when their teacher likes the gift.
I was trying to decide what to get the teachers this year when I thought about having the kids help me make a gift for them. I had no idea what else to get them and I bake cookies every year for Christmas. It will be the best gift we have given a teacher.
