A Spoonful from God

2 Timothy 3

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

{from what I have studied and learned by the Holy Spirit is that the "last days" that is spoken of here is the "last days" of the old covenant}

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

{while studying God laid it on my heart, this is who I was prior to salvation...do we not all realize and reach that point where we see who we "use" to be? Who we were before Christ returned...yes I said returned, before He came to live IN you, before you "put on Christ"?}

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

{When I read this passage I immediately thought of someone that I had been in a spiritual discussion with and reminded of some things in regards to "religion" . Many can say on Sundays I am a Christian then not accept the power and authority given to those IN Christ, Many can "act the part" then turn around and null-an-void it all. Therefore denying the power of God}

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

{tonight while at study group a friend mentioned something I never thought to look at before...The Church. the body of believers...The Bride. a bride is a woman right? Well think about the church you attend, at times does it fit that description? We are ever learning, but yet falling short and never gaining the knowledge of truth...we are easily led astray, especially if we do not embrace the power that God freely gives.}

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.

{I think at some point we need to remember the seed of Abraham that we have been given that promise...embrace it:)}

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

{all that WILL live godly...point to think about...Is it those who ARE living godly or those that WILL? Well what better point for satan to intercede Gods purpose for you, than to catch you before you BEGIN living godly, he will try to get you even before you begin, he will persecute you and even those that LIVE godly will also suffer persecution, But HE shall deliver us from it...remember God will take care of them, you just do what God has called you to do, if a man curses you OCCUPY...stand ground}

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

{perfect? yes perfect...biblical...mature}

I cannot explain the full blessing that I received from reading this tonight and studying it. I hope that the Holy Spirit also blesses you also.
